I read quiet a few of the post of other hivers and believe me I was so impressed on how selfish their wishes are. Kene wished for his brother to pass his medical examination while hiro-hive wished to be of more help to people by powering up his hive power which will make them to get better votes.
This made me to remember when I was praying so fervently for two women to conceive and have their own children. I met them five years ago during a church program being organized once every three years in the Eastern Nigeria. We boarded the same bus while going back to Lagos and there through our discussions we were able to know each other more. They were both married and have been barren for many years. One explained how her husband's people have been pestering her husband to do away with her so that he can marry another wife that will give him children. She always ran to the blessed sacrament in the church to cry her eyes out and God always has his way of frustrating the plans of her inlaws. So since that time, I have always have them in my prayers asking God to bless them with children. Just last week, I bumped into one in our church programme and she was carrying a 10 months old baby boy. She told me that God finally heard her prayers and blessed her. The glow on her body and her smiles showed that she desired to be a mother truly. I was very happy for her and I wished the same good news to the other woman whose inlaws were giving a hard time.
I don't know where she lives but I am sure that she stays around. I may not even recognize her again if we see again because it's been a long time. I was able to recognize the other woman because we have ran into each other few times since our first meeting.
The pain of not having children after marriage in Africa is indescribable. Infact 90% of those getting married in Nigeria are doing so just because they are of age and need to start their own family. Family here means having their own children. So when procreation is not happening it becomes a very sad thing in these marriages. Not all men are open to adoption or even ivf. Some will be patience enough to wait on God while others will seek for children outside from another woman. And believe me no woman will be happy to hear that her husband has another family outside.
For my Christmas wish, I will whisper a short prayer to heaven for the other woman going through hard time in her marriage because of not having children. I wish that wherever she is that heaven will open her womb and bless her with her own children. That she will be able to conceive this December so that her joy may be full.
Children are the joy of every woman, so I pray God will grant the other woman joy of her own.
Exactly, many women who desired children feels incomplete without them.
Children are the heritage of God and a blessing to any family that has them.
Here in Africa it's not easy to be married and not have children, especially for the lady who might face issues from her in-laws.
It's kind of you to wish this for all the childless people and I say amen to your prayers.
Africa is not like western world where some people can choose to stay without having children. It's really heartbreaking to see these women go through a lot.
Children can be the most beautiful thing in the world, but it also depends on who you have them with. Fertility shouldn't determine the existence of the relationship. But I wish them both good luck for the new year
Exactly, fertility shouldn't determine the existence of a relationship but here in Africa it does. Especially in marriages.
Every person has different wishes, some wish to pass their papers and make their life easier and some wish to go to their favorite country to travel. If you do, we will definitely fulfill all your wishes.
Yes ofcourse. We all have our different wishes.
