My Blessings of Listeners

Happy new week to everyone and I hope we are preparing quite well for the new year.

Just this midnight I was still updating my status, thanking everyone who had journey through the year with me. Especially to Those that have me listening ears to listen to all I have to say even when I was not sounding normal cos 2025 was really a year I went through so many challenges from my personal life to my family and all.

Listening to people and not just hearing is one ability that not everyone could have cos some tends to just hear what you have to say just for hearing sake or just for you to see someone to talk to but not that they are practically ready to listen to you in sharing that feelings together and ensuring you have a headway from such situation. So having such a ability to listen to people or you or me having such person with such ability is a blessing on its own which we should hold precious.

Foundational listeners to all grumbles and crumbles are my siblings and I can say act of listening can be taught and be learnt too cos I wonder how they all have that. Listening to one another and ensuring to be there for ourselves when necessary and even when it's unnecessary. Not hearing about it at all is the only antidote.

Like I mentioned earlier that I passed through some challenges this year and quite a fact that I have friends I talk to but there are just this very very few I've noticed to be good listeners. Not even when I'm not the type that goes around sharing what I pass through unless I've seen you to be someone I can share my private life with.

Funny enough, it doesn't have to be the number of years you've gotten to know someone that would make them to be there for you as a good listener when you need that aspect from them cos I am a living testifier to that.

An example of the time I had issues at my previous workplace and it was like a fierry furnace battle between my employer and I, even those I have been friends with for so long were not there to give me listening ears. Not because they don't want to and not even because some of them don't have the habit to listen but let's say they were busy with life of which they later came on to rectify but from my end, I kind of think they were not there when I needed them the most but at least they showed I was important to them and that's still enough.

Now let's say I was still harbouring my old attitude of not making new friends and staying glued to my old friends because of the fear of how friends betray and all that. I bet it that I would hardly be able to scale through those challenges cos these friends stood in for me, fought side by side with me virtually and physically to show that even a poor man has their own voice to win over power.

I'm conclusion, Art of Listening is a blessing to have to show to people and also get from people who are close to us. When we have those set of people, we shouldn't take them for granted..
