Celebrating Christmas as a child

It will be very wrong for me to say that I remember everything that happened to me when I was a kid. But I do remember a few things and they really stick to my memories up till now.

The yuletide season is always a great one even when we were growing up. But it seems to me as if everything has really changed. What we had before is very different from what we have today. This is where I kept asking my what happened that things has really changed like this. Don't get me wrong. The change is not a good one. While as we go on you will understand where I am coming from.

FAVORITE MEMORIES OF CHRISTMAS THAT I HAVE.

Every Christmas comes with it's speciality. By God's grace I have celebrated more than 40 Christmas that I can remember. I didn't include the ones I celebrated as a kid that I have no memory of them. But from the moment I turned seven I know of the Christmas that I spent and how it all went. Maybe the reason why I feel a little bit different now is because I pay for everything. Hahaha 😂😂. This is one of the reasons why people say that adulthood is a scam. I never understood until I became an adult. My eye don clear. 😂

I can clearly remember one particular Christmas that my mom brought a very fine gown for me to put on for Christmas. I so much love that gown because it has this two pocket by the sides and that is the very place that I put all the money that I got on that day. I actually made a lot of money.

THIS IS HOW IT HAPPENED

I had few of my friends and we came up with the idea of going to stand on the road and stop everyone passing to ask them of happy Christmas. 😂 Back then we don't joke with that. I can't really tell who brought the idea, but we all went out on the street and started to stop everyone on the road asking them for more. And to our surprise, most of them gave us money. We were four and at the end of the day we made #120. You know what that means. We felt like the way a billionaire will feel today. Hahaha 😂. We don't even know the value of money back then, but all we know is that we got the kind of money that we have never seen or touched in our lives. We all went home with #30 each and it was a lot. Back then we were using coins, the money was a lot . It took us a long time to finish that money. And you know of course that we can't tell our parents. That money was meant for us.

ENOUGH RICE TO EAT.

Another thing that I can remember was that we ate a lot of rice. Those days we don't actually get to eat rice all the time. Infact the only time we get to eat rice the way and manner we want os Christmas. Every family will prepare good rice and plenty of meat. Haha 😂. Meat that we don't get to eat all the time. So when we were through with money beginning on the road we started going from house to house and this time it was for food, drinks and eat. Most of them don't give money, is just food. But that was all we wanted from them. We just want to eat and eat and eat. We got what we wanted and we went home.

CONSEQUENCES

We had to much to eat and drink that I purged through out the next day. Hahaha 😂😂. I know that someone will say that it serves me well. Don't judge me because I was this poor girl who never get enough rice to eat and then an opportunity came up. I did the needed and then I faced the consequences the following day.
