Maybe Europeans Are Getting Started

Good evening everyone. I hope you're having a great day. I can only hope that because the market really doesn't seem like it is giving us a very good time. It is giving a hard time. It is a time of high patience and what not. Anywho, I don't want to talk about the crypto market today. Rather I want to shed some light on the emerging tech space that is the building itself in Europe. For the most part of the modern times, such as the last 50 years, Europe has not been on the forefront of innovation and technology. It has initially been with the USA. And later China has covered an enormous amount of ground, but Europe is still to be seen on the big stage. But looks like times are changing.

Since the end of last year, there have been some changes to the European and American policies. People like us who are not more than maybe 24-25 years old, we have always seen that Europe and America were a tight-knit friend group. They would have these defense treaties, business treaties, a whole military alliance called NATO. Recently these alliances are becoming fragile. And as a result, Europe has to pull its own weight. Now as I have seen and many researchers also argue, the biggest gap between America and Europe is technological. America has a lot of the cutting edge technology which Europe doesn't have. And it can be attributed largely to the overly strict regulation for which Europe is famous for. I'm sure you all know about the regulation regarding consumer protection and AI, also the act that made iPhones switch to Type C from lightning. Well these are very consumer friendly, it harms innovation. Because new startups have to jump through so many hoops before they can even launch their first product, it becomes very cumbersome to work with. And another big problem along with it. It is that simply Europe is not as easy. A place to invest in as America is. The countries inside Europe do not allow the free flow of capital for startups to gain investments which is possible in America because it is one whole country. But Europe has always produced some of the brightest minds in the world of tech. Only problem they have is that they were leaving for silicon valley. Now they're working to change it, trying to make investments more easy and easing regulations for startups to grow.

Europes’ pushed towards technological contentment is very necessary for its own survival. Because relying on such important technologies to be outsourced is not only a bottleneck but also a security threat considering they are not the best friends we thought anymore.
