In the silence
Lost in a world that isn't mine
the days crumble into the night.
A broken arrow flying sight unseen,
only to land in settled dust.
Unknown to me there are others,
struggling to find the way to the light.
Nail and tooth and tooth and nail,
enveloped and smothered by the void.
Spoken words and written dreams,
torn from seams and mouth stitched close.
Silence prevails and screams her tune,
Another mountain taken only to drown.
Wry the lips and dry the heart,
with nothing left for another start.
Spilled blood on frozen ground,
hitting bottom and falling still.

For the first time I have seen that you share a poem post. "Nail and tooth" we use a similar phrase to explain how hard we struggle.

I think this is the first written since mid-last year before the stroke. I used to write them more and will try again to see how it goes. It is different now though.

Good poetry here, it seems the struggle that you go through post stroke. I sense a lot of frustration in there!
It probably is the shortest you have seen, though not quite the shortest. I think I have on post that is almost just an image from 4 or 5 years ago :)

Silence is often deafening loud in a world that is not ours. We are only passing through and the struggle is our journey for us to discover truth and light. I have missed seeing your poetic writings. Nicely done.
I have missed writing tbh, but it is a different kind of challenge now - perhaps one I should face more often.

What did you envision in the moment when you felt that death was near? Have you imagined two women?
