Some people think that they are superior to others just because they wear uniforms or they belong to the list of high officials. They are using the power and influence appropriately vested in them just to assert dominance. I believe that kind of people is hard to eliminate, abusing power for their benefit.
True. We like it or not, it seems our world needs such kind of people, as they are usually quite successful and prosperous by the current society measures ;)
I wouldn't use the verb "eliminate" but "ignore" instead, as much as it is possible :)
