My Photography Trip to Helgoland and Hamburg

in PhotoFeed2 years ago

One of my greatest photography trips till now was the trip to the Island of Helgoland in Germany. It is a very nice Island in the north sea and I was able to take several nice pictures of birds there. The Northern Gannet is a beautiful birds that can be found there and also several birds that are on the route from north to south and vis versa. Helgoland is a popular resting place for birds during the migration time and we had luck that we visited this island in spring and could see several seldom birds there. Then there are also some birds that breed on the Island like this ringed plover here. Because this bird was nesting at the moment of our visit we could really get some nice closeup pictures of it.

Als the northern Gannet was nesting at the time we where visiting Helgoland and therefore we had some nice opportunities to take several pictures of these birds. They have a very nice color and they are one of the bigger and beautiful birds you can find there. The northern Gannet has a very nice mating and bonding behavior when they meet each other they rub their beaks together and this looks pretty nice. You can find a picture of this behaviour a little bit down here.
