I had a walk around the local country park. It is on the site of the once Grassmoor Colliery, that closed down many years ago.
First spot was a comma butterfly. It has a white 'c' on its underwing. I like this time of year when butterflies and dragonflies etc start appearing.
I saw a lot of ringlets. I don't mind these because they do sit for a short while, long enough to get a few photos.
A bee on the milk thistle. The thistle can be eaten but best when they are young plants. I don’t think I fancy trying it though.
One of our most common damselflies in the UK, the common blue, although the female is green and yellow.

Those photos are beautiful. I really like damselflies. They are quite prehistoric in their appearance with their big eyes.
Thank you. Yes, that's true. They all seem to be appearing now.
I haven't seen many recently, but I know they like ponds and there aren't any around here.
