RE: Let's Learn Linux!: The Beauty of the Rolling-Release Model - Issue #12 - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Saturday, July 22, 2023

Hey, your story is very interesting and how you keep your installations proof of data loss. I was using arch and it gave me some problems. I am a faithful Debian user but I also like continuous releases, that's why I have leaned towards Debian Sid, today I have made a post talking about it.

Hello, warm greetings! Thank you so very much! It's cool that you tried Arch, though I'm sorry that you had problems that you couldn't easily resolve. That's great that you use Debian! It's a great distro, too, and Sid is a excellent option! Fantastic! I'll go take a peek! Thank you again, very much! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

They seemed like minor problems, sometimes the shutdown had to be forced, also some bugs. I like .deb packages, so I already have my rolling release with Sid

The thing about Arch is that they don't unduly modify packages, so sometimes there are bugs upstream that are not yet resolved. I've definitely run into issues from time to time, but I've always been able to find a solution, which has also helped me learn my systems very well indeed! Via the debtap package, I'm able to repackage DEB files into Arch's format and install them, which I appreciate a great deal! That's excellent that you found an OS home that you feel fits you! That's a wonderful thing! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
