Hi everyone, it's me again with another blog. I will share with you guys our capstone project journey. I hope you will learn something from this blog please do supportand show some love by reblogging and upvoting this blog. Have a great day, everyone!! 🤗

I am a stem stem student. We have a capstone subject; it was like a research project. We are required to do this since we are in this strand while the other strand do immersion. I'm going to show our journey while making this project, and maybe this can help you get some ideas for your future research.

We have 11 members in our groups; we are group 4, and we brainstorm on what we are going to do. Then our adviser suggested "Implementing an Automatic Plant Watering System," so we picked what our adviser suggested we conduct since it was also perfect for our strand.

But first, I am going to explain how our study works. Our automatic plant watering system is a
hassle-free for our farmer's since our project will water their plants and I will stop when it detects moisture, it will automatically stop the water from watering. This is very helpful, especially when you are a "plant tita's" and you are so busy and sometimes you forget to water your plant. Our study will do your job.

We also pursued this study because we all know that most Filipinos love farming. That's why we will invent a less hassle way for them to water their plants with just one plug. They can water their plants whether it's a big garden or not because we are going to use a sprinkler to have a wide spread of water but there is also a down side for this study you can successfully create this if you dont know how to do programming so mightas will ask some help with your friends who knows doing programming of working as an IT.

Here we are preparing for our materials because some of them are so hard to find here in our place, and we are also going to do some encoding since we are going to use Arduino. In doing the programming, we ask for help from people who know how to do IT or encoding, and then we are starting to do our project. We really don't waste time because we just gave ourselves a small time to conduct our study.

We will use a moisture sensor to detect moisture from the soil, and we are also going to use Arduino to do the whole work, a DC pump, and a sprinkler to water the plants evenly and where the water comes out. We have a lot of materials, but I will not explain them one by one, only the important ones.

After everything our prototype is done, done programming, and done connecting all wires, we now proceed with testing it with water to see if the water will flow into the pump and stop if we touch our sensor with it. Then we plugged the wire, and it was a success. It all worked; the water flows and stops when it touches the sensor.
4_20240511_120958_0003.png
then the successful testing, we are now going to proceed by making our manuscript and run again some tests for our computation since we are going to use one-way anova. We will do some trials for this to collect the water usage and sprinkler runtime, and the testing was successful.
5_20240511_120958_0004.png
But when it comes to computing the water usage and sprinkler runtime, it was hard; it was hard balancing it. Making the whole manuscript is so stressful and tiring, still but I did my best to make our research perfect since I am the one who knows how to do the paper, so of course I am the one who is going to work but im not really good at math but still it.

Then, finally, I'm done with all the papers and testing i was cramming that time because it's already 2:00 AM and it really needs to be done by tomorrow 😭, Then It's time to pass our manuscript, and it's time for the subject teacher to check our prototype to see if it's going to work or not, and they will base our scores on it. But before I bring the prototype to school, I test it first at my house to ensure that it will work when it's time for checking. And after all the hard work, it really paid off the sleepless nights and also the backache from typing. Our subject teacher is still reviewing our manuscripts, and hopefully there's no revision needed.

📍Daily reminder that giving up is not a solution just trust the process and believe yourself that you can do it. That's all, everyone. I hope you enjoy learning new things in this blog. Thank you!

I am happy that despite the challenges you encountered, you did not give up. More progress on this prototype. All the best dear.

Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! We're determined to keep pushing forward and improving our prototype.

Wow! What a nice project it is for us who are inclined in farming. It's really nice to know you've started the theories and all documents relevant to it. That's already more than 90% accomplished. With a little adjustments, you will succeed in it. Congrats @xoxotelay!

Thank you so much for your encouraging words! We're excited about the progress we've made and are dedicated to bringing this project to fruition. Your support means a lot to us as we work towards success in the farming community. Stay tuned for more updates!😊

That's a good investigatory project Ma'am @xoxotelay your study will surely help our local farmers for an easy irrigation. Good job Ma'am

I'm glad to hear that you see the potential impact of our project on local farmers. It's our goal to make irrigation more accessible and efficient for everyone. Your support is greatly appreciated
