What makes my mug very special

Hello friends, welcome to my blog @yelimarin. It's a pleasure to greet you and participate in this coffee lovers community initiative. Today we are talking about a topic that I love, which is mugs, and believe me when I tell you that I have had many throughout my life.

I constantly buy mugs for my kitchen; some I've borrowed and never return, others break while washing or storing them, and others I lose through absent-mindedness. But most I lend them out and don't get them back.

For many years I have been able to observe and have different models of mugs in my house. I have two metal ones. My husband is the one who uses them the most to heat the coffee directly in the kitchen, only the amount to be used and then he switches to the cup where he is going to drink it.

I have had some plastic ones, which I didn't like very much and I bought them for my baby's use, when he was little. Nowadays, he uses the ceramic ones too.

Other cups that I didn't like are the ones made of a material called pewter. I don't know, I see that this material rusts and flakes off. My mother always said they were of poor quality and I think the same, so I have never bought them. Once I won one and I didn't even know where it ended up.

I have also had some of a material called stoneware and others of clay in small size; they are nice, although all of them had the ears of the cups broken, ha, ha, ha, ha. When I moved into my apartment, I treated myself to a dozen large and a dozen small glass mugs. They were very elegant and eye-catching, they came as if carved in the glass itself; I said they were royalty cups.

The truth is that this also made them striking for other people, and my neighbors began to send to ask me for a little bit of sugar, a little bit of salt, a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and my son always gave what they asked for in my cups. So, one by one, they were disappearing from my kitchen, until there was not even one left and when I asked for them, it was already too late. They all told me they didn't have them, by the way, but I have never seen those cups for sale.

During my adult life I have had many mugs in my kitchen and of all the material that I have liked the most are the ceramic ones. Of those I have had many, almost all have been large and are the ones I currently use. Each one has a story to tell. I have Christmas ones with very nice and stylish decorations.

Many of them I have bought to cheer me up for an achievement or because I see them and at once there is a connection between the two: ha, ha, ha. I haven't bought any more because I have closet space full and I'm controlling myself with compulsive shopping.

However, there is one mug that is the most special to me and it is one that I gave myself when I turned two years old in Hive and it comes personalized with my username @yelimarin. This mug always accompanies me in my office, right next to my laptop, while I enjoy a hot cup of coffee and write my posts for Hive.

Only I am allowed to use that mug, no one else, I am very jealous with it and that's because it is a very meaningful gift for me. It is the mug that represents my personal brand @yelimarin, which continues to grow every day. It is the constant work of three years of sharing content on Hive and this mug reminds me of that.

My Hive mug reflects constancy, dedication and effort. It's a well-deserved gift from me to me, telling me “Come on, keep going, you're doing great”. That's why she is my favorite mug and it makes me very happy to have it and have my name written on it: Yeli Marín, which in turn is my username @yelimarin.

Every mug is important to me because they are gifts that I have made myself, but my Hive mug is my favorite: the mug of the queen of the house, of the journalist, of the feisty woman, housewife, mother, student, creative, professional and more. There will always be more to share and to learn and there will always be an opportune moment to enjoy a good coffee. Thank you for reading me and happy holidays to all.

The cups we use throughout our lives have their own history of experiences, unfortunately cups do not last that long and from time to time they have to be changed due to one circumstance or another.

Your Hive mug is beautiful, perfect for getting inspired while writing for our beloved platform.😁

Thanks for sharing your experience with us☕

Excellent Monday.

That's right my friend, we always have to be replacing them for various reasons, the most common being that they break.
My mug is beautiful, I am very happy with it and I just came up with an idea for a new mug. Have a happy holiday season.

Real pewter are normally solid and last forever, but I think they might be better for cold beverages.

Strangely, you have cups with broken handles, but that should be no problem for you to toss out.

Thanks for participating:)

Hola amiga, the ones I have seen made of pewter eventually flake or rust, maybe they are not the original ones or they are very old, I always prefer the ceramic ones personally.
I usually throw away the cups without handles, my mom used to tell us not to keep damaged things because that would bring ruin, maybe they are just beliefs, but I end up doing it hahaha, I last a short time with them and then I throw them away and bring a new one. Happy Holidays.

Pamper your special mug dear.
It's a special one.
I believe you will get another one when you celebrate three years on hive.

That's right friend, my mug is special, when I turn 4 years old in Hive I will give myself another one with more details, let's see what I can come up with, happy holidays.

That's great dear.
Looking forward to it😊

I still love pewter cups, it reminds me of my childhood days. That personalized mug is very nice, it's a great detail, excellent idea. Thanks for sharing dear @yelimarin . Merry Christmas.

It's good that you have those childhood memories, there are always places, smells and things that make us travel back in time. I love my mug, it's a nice self gift. Happy Holidays my friend.
