In 2017, I brought a group of students to Cambodia for their oversea service learning project. We had a home-stay experience in a rural village. I was very exhausted when we reached the village and the next morning, the village provided us with breakfast. They gave us coffee in bamboo cups.
Weirdly, the coffee tastes different from the coffee served in the porcelain cups. The coffee was hot, but the bamboo cup provides sufficient insulation to the finger. When my tongue touches the surface of the bamboo cup, my tongue can feel the cooling and rough surface as I slowly sip the coffee. However, coffee is one of the most memorable coffees that I have ever had.
The villagers used their resources creatively. The design is eco-friendly.
Students learn to work in a team.
