Sedjuk, A Peaceful Cafeshop to Yapping with Hivers Jakarta

Halo Buddies...

Some time ago, I received an invitation to watch a monologue theater performance from a friend of mine. He was part of the crew and had extra tickets, so it was a chance for us fellow writers in the writing community—who brought us together—to meet up.

So here we are, at a café shop—which also sells Bakmi, called Sedjuk.

Sedjuk, A Peaceful Place to Yapping

This cafe shop is located inside the Pos Bloc. A little information: Pos Bloc used to be a post office—the largest mail delivery office in Indonesia. Now, as mail delivery has become less common, the building has been transformed into a space offering a wide variety of vendors. From food stalls and bookstores to souvenir shops and coffee shops, everything is here. So forget about Pos Bloc, let's head to Sedjuk.

This place was recommended by a friend when I said I wanted a hot cup of coffee while waiting for the others to arrive—and then we'd walk to the theater venue together. Looking outside, I saw that this coffee shop is very popular among the employees, as I saw many customers busy with their laptops that day. That was in the indoor area, while in the spacious outdoor area, I saw several groups chatting happily.

Because it is located in a building with Dutch architecture—because Jakarta was formed during the Dutch colonial era, the Sedjuk coffee shop also has a traditional vibe.

Located in a building with Dutch architecture—due to Jakarta's colonial era—Sedjuk Coffee Shop has a traditional vibe. When you enter this coffee shop, you'll feel like you've entered your own home. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. Wherever you sit, it doesn't feel commercial. You'll feel like a host welcoming guests—if you're with a group. At least, that's how I felt.

Now, it's time to enjoy a cup of Coffee Latte with beautiful art coffee...

This wasn't my first latte with art, but I still had to commend its beauty. I felt terrible about destroying the art, but the urge to drink my coffee was so strong that I finished it as soon as the temperature cooled down.

I rarely order hot coffee, as it always goes down quickly. But this time, I was in a hurry to finish my latte, afraid I'd miss the show.

I enjoyed a cup of coffee latte while chatting with my fellow Hive friends. There were Anggrek, Titis, and Yunie. While waiting for the others, we talked about anything and everything, and by the way, this was our last meeting with Anggrek in Medan, 2 or 3 years ago. Also Titis, even though we live in the same city, we rarely see each other and chat. Likewise with Yunie, since she moved from Jakarta to Bali, we rarely see each other. Luckily, this event was held so we could relieve our small amount of longing.

Hasta La Vista...

Thanks in advance, to read my blog and hope you like my post!
See you on the next post...

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
