Hmm that's easy - I'd definitely love to change how drinking coffee at night disrupts my sleep. I hate the fact that I am restricted by the time of the day to drink coffee. There are times I am out for an evening walk with my wife and we walk past my favorite coffee shop - and the only thing that stops me from walking in is the time of the day. Decaf is an alternative, but I mean come one! What's coffee without that caffeine kick eh!
I however would like to keep the wake up "kick" of coffee in the morning too!
Asking for too much am I?
Well, sleepless nights or not...here's me drinking coffee after dinner last night!
I don't have a problem with coffee and sleep but to be honest I try not to drink coffee at night. However, stopping by my favorite coffee shop at night is a great excuse for a night coffee, hehe. Maybe you could try drinking it lighter at night or adding milk.
Sometimes I think it is also a preconception that if we drink it in the evening, coffee makes it difficult for us to sleep ;) Caffeine can aggravate falling asleep if we are under stress or have a disorder that makes it difficult for us to sleep. But a cup of coffee if we are relaxed and having a good time, should not make a difference, I think.
I agree, I think it is very much a psychological factor that plays on my mind if I drink coffee late in the evening. I automatically go into the mindset that I Won't be able to fall asleep easily tonight, so what ends up happening is I don't even try to sleep, I don't even go to bed. I just stay up, watch some movies or write something.
Great insight there! 👍
I like to make sure my cup of coffee is there if I need my brains!
I totally understand what you mean. Fortunately, I can go to sleep after having a cup of coffee, always I haven't drunk too many cups during the day. What makes me sleepless sometimes is not coffee but food. I can't sleep if I eat late--like today!
There's an interesting side to caffeine addiction. When you've reached a certain point of addiction, it's not the caffeine that hampers you sleep but the lack of it. There are no scientific research or statistically significant data available on this, but I myself was a caffeine addict (proudly so hehe), and I have experienced this firsthand!
Those days are long gone now, and I can keep my caffeine in check now :D
Well, there was a time in college when I needed coffee or I wouldn't sleep. Those days are long gone, too. One thing I know, I never drink string coffee in the evening.
Unless I need to do some nighttime activity, my coffee consumption is also restricted in the evening hours. I think if there was a way to drink coffee without affecting sleep it would be wonderful.
Thank you for leaving your comment.
Excellent day with a good cup of coffee.☕
Same here, if I have to pull of a late night and get some work done I'll resort to a strong cup of coffee. I however will make sure I get a quick power nap beforehand.
I often have night shifts in the medicine emergency, so this is quite a recurring habit for me 😄
Coffee can make you relax, consuming coffee without sugar or milk is better
Oh yes! A man of class I see eh! 😉
As make ch as I love a latte, I find myself consuming black drip coffee almost 80-85℅ of the time. It's lighter, more convenient to make.
I can safely drink coffee whenever because caffeine does NOT give me energy!
I saw on a video presentation by a doctor that that can be a sign you have ADHD, and my father has ADHD, so maybe I do too. But either way - caffeine makes me sleepy. So sometimes when I cannot sleep at night, I drink coffee to help me sleep. :)
That’s an interesting theory. 😄 I will have to look into it, I hadn’t heard of it before.
So even after you wake up in the morning, drinking coffee doesn’t give you the "kick?"
Nope. I am chronically fatigued and nothing helps. 😭
