This is how I usually take my coffee (I don't usually have whipped cream though, but sometimes). I don't like coffee plain, but I make a blender drink with it that is kind of like a homemade frappuccino. 😁 It's quite tasty.
If I could change one thing, I suppose I would like for coffee to give me energy. Caffeine makes me sleepy if anything, not awake. So as I said in another comment, sometimes if I can't sleep, I drink a coffee and it knocks me out.
I actually didn't start drinking coffee at all until my late 30s, and I didn't know that caffeine made me sleepy before then, too. Prior to that my only caffeine consumption was soda or chocolate, so it was never a lot so I hadn't made the connection. But then I worked the night shift at the hospital, and I tried drinking energy drinks to stay awake and I was nodding off at the desk! That's when I finally figured out that caffeine has the opposite effect on me. I started drinking coffee as a way to make a protein shake (that's what I make in the blender).
I average one or two coffee drinks per day, so no, before you ask - it isn't because I've become so addicted I need the caffeine to sleep, lol.
I know people who get sleepy with caffeine. It must be crazy, for me it's the opposite, it activates me and I need more to go through my daily routine.
As for your taste in cream, don't worry! We all have strange tastes in coffee. I'll share mine with you. Chocolate coffee ☕🍫

.That's what I call candy-coffee. I'm drooling... That's perhaps my favorite dessert in the whole world so far. But if I have one of those, I must go for a cup of steaming black coffee immediately, otherwise my brain won't believe me that I did have coffee, hehe.
