December is almost over and so are the coffees from my Christmas calendar. It’s 26th now, but now I found the needed time for this post. It’s a bit sad that the coffees are almost near their end, but this last week the coffees were one of the most wanted. As I and my wife guessed, the tram has left the best coffees for the last couple of days and we were happy to have chosen 13-24 coffees to be ground for V60 filter.
Let’s begin today’s coffees!
Day #19
Colombia Finca La Maria
A well known coffee. This is a pick that we make every month for our coffee selection. The label is brown and the typical tastes found in it are brown sugar, toffee and chocolate. We already had one of these in our espresso coffees from the calendar and now we have it for V60 too!
Day #20
Honduras Finca El Puente
Now we are back at our sweet home and there are just a handful of coffees left. Now there is another brown label and a coffee that we ordinary purchase and drink on a weekly basis.
The tastes here are typical for a brown labeled coffee - brown chocolate, hazelnuts and dried plum. Definitely one beautiful taste.
Day #21
Costa Rica by Dabov
This was the coffee that had the most interesting and unnatural taste from the espresso selection (1-12). It was also the coffee from the last year’s advent calendar that I remember clearly!
Orange, lychee, cinnamon and toffee! I don’t know how it’s possible to find such interesting and different tastes in a coffee! It’s one of the coffees that I like extremely beautiful.
I would most probably buy one of these when the coffees from the calendar are already gone.
Day #22
Ethiopia Wonago
This Ethiopian coffee is one of the new additions to the company’s portfolio an it has a fine and clean taste. Ethiopian coffees always tend to be a very tasty ones.
In this one forest fruits and grape freshness are the tastes to be found. Very elegant and clean profile! I’m very happy to have this in my cup.
Day #23
India Gems of Araku 7
This was one of the coffees that you can guess right from opening the package. First, the roasting was very light and secondly, the aroma of the unbrewed coffee was different.
Adding hot water gave me that unique spicy aroma. Kinda like sweet ginger in a beautiful Thai dish. I knew this was an India coffee. I remember their specific taste quite well. A very extraordinary and unique taste.
The color of the ready coffee is brilliant! And the tastes are also interesting. Aside from the spiciest and sweet ginger, some green apple can be found. Overall taste is very fresh.
Day #24
Geisha Honduras
If you are familiar with coffees you may know that Geisha is one of the most specific and expensive varieties of coffee. This sort is unique with the clean tastes. Of course there are a lot of varieties of Geisha coffee and I am happy to have one of them in my cup.
This was the perfect end for an advent calendar and because we guessed there will most probably be a special coffee for the 24th we chose to grind our beans at filter size for the second half of the coffees in the calendar.
What tastes do we have here? Sweet lemon, mandarin and jasmine. If you can’t say this sounds beautiful, then what? And it’s taste is of course beautiful! This was truly the best end to a Christmas calendar and we are very happy that we chose to purchase it. Of course we have almost all of the coffees still available, 50 grams per package is a lot of coffee, so we will enjoy them for some more time.
Now it’s time to end this post. Stay healthy and stay warm. Keep beautiful feelings inside your soul and smile.
See you soon!
Hello @mdosev, I guess you're a little sad indeed that your festive coffee collection is almost finished.
I always shy away from fruity flavours, but somehow that orange, lychee, cinnamon sounds so enticing:)
I also like the interesting names created for the coffees.
Nice lighting with your photos too.
Have a great day and all the best for the New Year:)
I don’t know how they choose names for the coffees, but they are cool! Indeed I’m a bit sad that the coffees are almost finished. Fruity flavor coffees are my fav! While “classic” tasting ones are usually around chocolate, nuts and toffee, there are a lot of different other tastes that I really enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!
I love this idea! A coffee advent calendar; so creative! They all look so delicious!
Thanks for sharing this post!
Cheers!
The company that I purchase coffees from follows the trend nowadays and offers a very interesting way of presenting their coffees in this calendar. And they have a variety of different coffees. Thanks for stopping on my post! 😉
