RE: CLOSED - Coffee Conversation: EVENT 78 - AUG 3 - 5

Hey coffee firends!

I hope your Sunday is going great.

I probably tried coffee before I could speak... My mother used to moisten my baby's lips with sweet coffee when he was just a few months old. As she smiled and sang lullabies or recited funny rhymes, she'd dip the tip of her index finger in her coffee cup and run it quickly over my son's lips as she rocked him in her arms. It was naughty of her but funny; I like to think she did the same with me. My baby smiled; I should've smiled as well.

A gentle latte would come with buttered toasts, arepas, or a cheese sandwich when I was four; I have confusing memories of that. I remember I'd invite my next door neighbor & BF over for latte. We sat on the porch and without saying it aloud, we pretended we were older, like ten years older. That much older, a lot for us.

Now it's almost black coffee all the time for me, homemade coffee from my moka pot--though it's my little French press on the photos, which shape and vibrant green gives me some joy--. Espresso is my favorite. No sugar. The thicker the layer of foam on top the better; someday I'll by that espresso machine and share my happiness with you!

I think that you won the gold medal here in this coffee conversation… A few months old cannot be easily beaten. I, with my 16 years of age seem like the ultimate noob in the world of coffee. 😁

Sixteen is a nice age to start enjoying the benefits of coffee. We ususally need extra energy at that age because we go to bed late and must wake up early no matter what. Also, you can go for coffee with friends instead of going for ice cream, which is more expensive and has more sugar, for example. Finally, you can join in conversations with those relatives that are much older than you; you can do that if you're 8 or 9, for instance.

A passion that your mother helped you cultivate from your first months of life. You must thank your mother for introducing you to coffee from a very early age. Your story reminded me of when my brother was given some coffee in his bottle.🤭

I leave you a cup of coffee for this sunday.☕
