Hello, coffee lovers! Today I met some friends I haven't seen for a while and we decided, of course, to have some coffee. We went to a lovely place in El Vedado, one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Havana, Cuba.
I moved to Havana last October. After my very loved gandma sadly past, on September, I felt like I need a change, a drastic one. So I moved 900 kilometers away from all my family and friends to start over. New city, house, job... Everything new.
To be honest, I had not feel like going out. Only for work related issues. But today was special: my friend Yoel and and my colleague writer Ragnar where in Havana.They are here assisting to the most important school for writers in Cuba, the Centro Onelio. I studied there 9 years ago, and it was a great experience, very good for my posterior career, and also my first time in Havana. Who would tell that 9 years later I would be living here?
So, we had some cortaditos (very dark and reduced coffee, Cuban style, with also very short milk). Even though cortaditos have milk, it's only a bit.
This coffee place have some of the BEST cortaditos I've ever tasted. Also has a very bohemian environment, full of sudents and broke artists (like us 😅).
We were 4 writers from 3 different cities (Yoel and I from Santiago, Ragnar from Guantanamo and Miguel from Santa Clara) having some coffee in Havana and talking about Chinese Science Fiction. Well... Could be worst 😂
