Bitter Sweet Memories

in Cinnamon Cup Coffee19 hours ago

Hello everybody this is my first post in the Cinnamon Cup Coffee community! I was eager to join the #spillthebeans prompt as I have a lovely mug gifted to me some time ago I'd like to share and the memories and feelings behind it.

But first here is my cappuccino for the day! I love a good coffee first thing in the morning and these Starbucks pods I recently decides to try are quite the tasty beverage.

With that being said let me share my favourite coffee mug with you all. It was gifted to me close to four years ago now. It was my girlfriend at the time, sisters who gifted me it for my birthday.

I can imagine the idea was my partners on behalf of her sisters who she would've pressured into getting me a birthday gift 😂 So it meant a lot and was from somebody incredibly special to me.

It became a daily habit to make my morning coffee in my own mug, with a humorous greeting every-time. While also sending my partner a picture, as in "Hey I'm using the mug again!"

And due to the daily habit of using this specific cup by itself the wear and tear started to occur. Now at the time the fading wasn't so bad to deal with but I knew the more I would continue to use the mug the quicker It would disappear entirely.

As the months went by the image faded more and more. Which is quite sad to see before your own eyes, as your relationship is also failing and you continue to try and hold on-to the things that do and once did remind you of them. It's an incredibly bitter sweet feeling. Our relationship sadly did not last but I have all the memories still, the wonderful times spent together and all that we both learned in the process.

And now a sad reminder of what once was, with the imagine now completely and entirely faded, it does break my heart to some degree. Feeling as If I've lost something very important all over again.

But that is life, it puts things into perspective. I should have taken better care of the mug and not continued to use it so often when it was clear to see the degrading happening.

Goodbye Little Bean, your image may have faded but I still see you.

At first glance, the fading image appeared to be a photo edit for a joke, but then I read the story.

This is indeed a bittersweet memory of a coffee cup.
There might not be any connection between the fading image of the cup and the fading of your relationship. However, if you do think so, maybe it's best to look at it as the relationship's natural progression. Somethings were not meant to last but we can cherish the memories.

Thank you! And indeed, cheerish the memories and be glad they happened, we can only learn from past experiences and grow as individuals.

Have a wonderful day!

A very interesting story that you share with us, the truth is that there are objects that remind us of people and it is like a means of connecting with them.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Good day.
