It's All About Coffee

Hello, friends especially coffee lovers!

Recently after we had my special late birthday lunch, we went to one of my favourite place to go, Grand Indonesia Shopping Center. There are so many things in the shopping center that I usually look around. One of the best place that it has is batik section in one floor at the department store. I looked around and searched if there some batik clothes or there are some unique things made of batik I could see or even buy (if I desperately in love with, well, that’s me). Here were some things that found interesting that day.

First in the batik clothes section they had some combination of batik fabric and other kind of fabric. Like the vest they put in one mannequin. Plus they had many combinations there too. Also they had so many choices of clothes in their other side of course, that I didn’t take pictures of cause there were so many.

But unfortunately I couldn't find any colorful batik I was looking for so I gave up of the cloth (then I later decided to buy it online).

One of the corner sold many unique things for home like decorations made of shell, table cloth, tissue holder, batik cushions, et cetera. They even sold the tote bag made of batik patchwork, inspiring.

Also in the other side of the batik section, we could find dachshund made of batik. So cute and i liked it but it was pricey so I didn’t buy it.

After finished looking for the batik cloth I finally bought nothing. Found the cold pressed juice automatic machine in one of the shopping center’s corner then I decided to buy one of it just to try the flavour. What made me interested in it was the fact that it had no added sugar, water and also preservatives; it contained antioxidants, fibers and vitamins which would be good for digestion, skin health and energy boast.

They only sold it in one size and they had lots of choice but I interested in their ABC, so I chose it then paid it online with the QR code. The price of the 250 ml of the mix juice was 35K IDR so it was around 2 USD.

The ABC juice they had contained apple, beet, carrot and pineapple. Guess the taste? It was a bit weird cause what I could felt dominant was just the beet. I couldn’t even smell the apple in it, what a mess. I should have tried their other kind of juice next time.

We still looked around that day to the store that sold unique merchandise like some we bare bears I could find in a store….

Or thematic decorations for special ocation like chinese new year and also valentine’s day in the other store.

Well anyway after strolling around, a cup of coffee would be irresistible and made our day, so then we decided to go to one of the popular cafe which was located on Ground Floor West Mall Grand Indonesia Shopping Center.

Even it was still 2 pm, but as my guess, the place was full of customers. Yeah no one could resist the excitement of afternoon coffee... That day, we needed to queue up first before we could order. Here how the customers there before us.

Well, the menu that this cafe had were:

For coffee they had shaken espresso latte, caramel macchiato, salted caramel latte, sea salt creamy latte, tiramisu creamy latte, butterscotch creamy latte, flavored latte, latte/cappuccino, long black, mochaccino, and pour over.

For non coffee they had chocolate, aloe calamansi tea, lychee/lemongrass tea, djournal thai tea, green tea latte, hot premium tea, butterfly pea calamansi, hibiscus lemonade, and pink lemonade.

For frappe they had caramel cream, mangolicious, matcha freeze, nutella blast and caramel cookie crumbs.

For cold brew sensation they had djournal mont blanc, caramel cream cold brew, orange cold brew, jasmine cold brew, and cold brew.

For nusa rasa (indonesian coffee series) they had kopi susu santai (relaxed milk coffee), kopi susu pisang (banana milk coffee), kopi susu batavia (batavia milk coffee), kopi pandan aren (palm sugar pandan coffee), kopi rempah (spices coffee), and kopi ube (ube coffee).

They gave stars next to their best seller coffees, so it would make easier to choose.

They also nominated their 3 coffees as their everyday favorites, and they were sea salt creamy latte, kopi susu santai and orange cold brew.

Beside drinks, they also sold some kind of cakes, croissants, pastries, even muffin.. Good thing you could choose them yourselves through their glass showing case.

After ordered and paid then we should wait in the pick up part of their desk.

While my boyfriend was waiting for the order,
I took some photos of their dining area. The place was nice and cozy. They put on some plants in it. Lots of soft sofas and chairs. The furnish made of wood. Somehow it had a touch of retro style in the design. But i like it. Oh yeah, they also had outdoor dining area too.

Here were what we ordered that day...

For the coffee we ordered

BUTTERSCOTCH CREAMY LATTE

Their butterscotch creamy latte had foamy surface that tasted sweet and a bit savory with butterscotch flavour. The coffee they put below it was bitter. Unfortunately they didn't give us any straw to stir it so we couldn't blend the bitter and sweet flavour. Well, overall i loved the butterscotch flavour and missed this butterscotch, so lucky to finally met it there.

For the cake, i also chose cake that contained coffee

CARAMEL MOCHA CAKE

Their caramel mocha cake had layers. It was a combination of cake and also mocha and caramel cream. It had medium sweetness flavour with caramel and mocha that felt so real. I love how they made it, perfect cake for me!

Well, overall both of us agree that this café provides good coffee and cake so no wonder many customers love to come there! Why don't you try them yourselves?
