How To Make Your Own Cold Brew Coffee

in Cinnamon Cup Coffee3 years ago (edited)

Indonesia has a lot of good coffee beans. Specially Sumatra where the biggest exporter of coffee beans are. Such as Sumatra Selatan, Lampung, Sumatra Utara and Aceh that exported 380.17 tons of coffee beans in 2021.

Coffee plantation can be found in other islands all over Indonesia like Java, Bali, Lombok, East Nusa Tenggara and Papua. Where I live right now, Bali, has two variants of coffee: Kintamani and Plaga.

If you ask me, which one is my favourite? I can't tell because I like them all. I really have no idea what's the difference between Aceh coffee with Bali coffee. I only know the difference of Arabica and Robusta.

I rarely go to a coffee shop because it costs me a lot of money. Instead of buying coffee everyday, I was thinking that it would be better if I can brew it on my own at home.

What I need to make my own coffee drink at home are so simple. I bought a vietnam drip filter and a cold brew coffee maker. But for this post, I will share you how I make Cold Brew Coffee.

Below is my step by step of making a cold brew coffee that I learned from many tutorials from Youtube:

For 1,2 litre water, I took 80 gram of coffee beans and I grind it with my hand grinder.

Then I pour 1,2 litre water with room temperature.

Put the cold brew coffee glass into the fridge and wait for 12-18 hours.

Here is the cold brew coffee after I put it in the fridge for 12 hours. The taste is a little bit slight of sweetness and bitter. Usually I pour over some milk and sometimes I dropped a slice of ginger. I can bring the coffee to work so I don't need to buy them anymore. 😁

So how do you make your own coffee at home? Please let me know at the comment below. Thanks for reading. ☕️

This is a very good alternative for the tropical climate, and good when it starts to get hot in other places, I discovered this method a couple of years ago and I love it, I always come back to it in summer! @citrarahman nice post!

Thanks @ninaeatshere. Indonesia is now entering a dry season and the cold brew coffee is a perfect drink! :D
