TCSP W98: Don't leave for tomorrow, the coffee you can drink today

Recently I was visiting a very popular coffee shop in my city and this place was the ideal place for a reunion with my old coworkers after 20 years.

Taking advantage of the Christmas season and in view of the fact that the year was coming to an end, one day I started thinking about how we are always postponing meetings with wonderful people we have met along the way in our lives. So I decided to contact my old friends for a coffee, taking the opportunity to invite the oldest and the first one to retire, who is also a bit in poor health.

We always said that we were going to get together to have something to eat or at least have a coffee, but for many reasons this did not happen. Sometimes I had met my friends somewhere in the city, but we had never met all together, or at least most of them, because that day three great friends were missing.

Something curious happened with my retired friend and that is that I always coincided with her at funerals, so I started to think why not plan a reunion to celebrate life and not have to coincide only in sad moments.

That afternoon was full of emotions, since I agreed to pick up my retired friend Zoraida at 4 pm to go out for a coffee at a coffee shop near her house. While we were there, the other friends with whom I had previously agreed to meet arrived, but without saying anything to Zoraida. My friend's face of emotion was surprising, she never imagined that we were going to meet again, we only spoke to each other by phone, so this was a nice and exciting outing for all of us.

We were there for a couple of hours, we accompanied the coffee with bread and cookies while chatting about our lives, family, friends and remembering so many pleasant moments shared over the years. It was also amazing to realize how life has moved on so fast, it has been 20 years since we went our separate ways. I changed jobs, she retired as well as other friends who did not attend that day and the other three remain in the same institution.

I have always thanked God for having placed in the beginning of my professional career people of great heart and human warmth, who for years have shown me their affection and love, with whom I have shared some good and some not so pleasant moments, although we hardly see each other we have always kept in touch and I am glad I could meet them again to share that delicious coffee.

The coffee was great, the cookies and breads were delicious, the service was very good, without a doubt it was an unforgettable meeting. From all this I have to say that Don't leave for tomorrow, the coffee you can drink today, especially with those great friends that life has given us.

And this is my story in week 98 the coffee shop promt. A hug to all. 🤗

The place is really nice and so is the latte art of the coffee

Yes, I love this coffee shop and they really did a great job with the coffee. My Regards @bethyjade

I'm happy you culd meet your old colleagues and give Zoraida that beautiful surprise. WHat you say about meeting to celebrate and not only at funerals made me remember a chapter of Little House on the Prairie, when an old lady has just lost her friend and only companion and decided to organize her own funeral while she was still alive just to make their children come visit her after so long. It was a nice episode, hehe, old, I know!

Hope 2025 is treating you well, friend ☕️❤️

You dropped your cedula 😄 It's a sad but true story, more so when the estrangement comes from family, although lost time is not recovered whenever there is an opportunity to share with our friends and loved ones should be taken advantage of. My Regards @marlyncabrera
