Oh! I have gone through a number of entries for this submission, and boy have I laughed and shaken my head at some level of oblivion.
I read articles that talked about the superiority of the iPhone camera, and I thought, where have they placed Realme, Oppo, Huawei, Samsung, and even the Google pixel phones? You talk about a camera that functions only when there's bright lightning and makes a picture look like it's smeared with palm oil. And sure, I expected the comparisons to run between newly released iPhones and older version androids. And between high-end phones and mid-rangers. Tsk!
Then there was the ecosystem thing like that seamless functioning wasn't a thing between devices of the same product company. You can't really enjoy your Apple oroducts outside it's ecosystem. Do you own a MacBook?
I know that the apple ecosystem is cool and all, but the android machine will outperform over and again.
Well...that's good too. I'm not up to banter. There's literally no game in that since it's all a matter of what each person prefers and how well it serves them.
However, I have noticed that when comparisons are made, it's usually between an iPhone and a transission/mid-ranger device. Occasionally, too, it's between Samsung and iphones. A few posts that I have read made focus on the former, so that's what I'm going to do too. Be all-inclusive, as I should.
I like the android. I always have been big on Samsung phones. I hold nothing towards the iPhone and have never cared much for them.
There are things that apple does better and then there are things that android will always do better.
Take video recording as an instance, iPhone does it really well than most androids. But when it comes to taking pictures? Oh, please, put that iPhone down. iPhones make pictures look like it has less contrast and more saturation. Most ndroid stock cameras within same range have better image quality, sharper details, better dynamic range, can handle exposure better, can take better quality pictures in low lighting and difficult lighting conditions and I like the way they handle blacks and shadows.
Other Android brands too can be used to compare iPhones and win the iphone in most category like fast charging(Oppo and Xiaomi which has charger
of 200 watts capable of charging your phone to 100 percent 13 to 15mins). Camera prowess would go to Google pixel and Hauwei F series. Pro mode video goes to Sony and lot of others. We have the likes of Google Pixel, Xiaomi, Oppo Find series, Sony 1 series, Vivo X series, Huawei flagships that are powerful devices.
Because Apple doesn't make any budget phones and Samsung makes budget phones, people believe you must be very rich to be able to afford an iPhone while you can be poor and own a Samsung. To make an accurate comparison between the two, you have to use mobile devices in the same price range and the results will surprise you.
It's worthy to note that...
Androids can be customised to users taste. Reverse wireless charging has been Samsung's stuff since. Camera depends on individual preference, but the iPhone is nowhere near. I'm sorry.
Both androids and iPhones are topnotch in security. The iPhone is like hotplate whereas androids do better in heat management these days. Same with battery optimization. iMessage by iphone is outdated compared to the new RCS messaging developed by android(For those that don't know, the normal android messaging support end to end encryption, you can chat with it like WhatsApp).
Androids are productivity powerhouses. Just do some research on "Samsung Dex," and then you will understand. The iPhone is not flexible for someone in Tech, you know, but you can code on and build apps on a good android phone.
iPhone is good as well, but I won't be paying for a device with a powerful processor if I can't take advantage and control of it powerful hardware features.
And if you mention Siri, a quick google search will instantly tell you that google Assistant, owned by Android system is way better than Siri that can not think better outside of iOS. I'll give up market and resale value to iPhones..they are it.
Oh, I like to gloat about Samsung...
The Samsung voice assistant beats that of the iPhone, speaking from experience. You can't compare their storage, as Samsung is more durable in terms of storage capacity. You can't also copy information on the iPhone clipboard for over 24hrs, while you can do that on the Samsung.
iPhones are good. Androids are good. I believe that iphones are well rated because of their brand positioning. I think, that it's one of the reasons that Samsung still has people's respect and rating too, cause back then, when iphones weren't a thing, Samsung held the market and represented well.
The bottom line is, people are still living in the past. They still see the iPhone as that ultimate symbol of prestige. The smartphone world has evolved past the time when Android devices were playing 'catch-up.' Features, camera, sweet designs...Android is kingThere is nothing the iPhone can that an android can't do. Name it, I'll wait.
Finally, I hope we begin to consider utility when we make these comparisons, cause imagine using less than 10% of your phone's capabilities and still saying its better than an android. Tsk!
Wo, I'm done here.
Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
