I have been shopping online say a little over a decade now and I'll tell you one thing for sure, you can order and buy almost anything you want and get them in good condition but hair, clothing and even shoes is where I draw the line. No I did not just wake up to say this but it's an actual opinion coming from a series of experiences not just mine but people around me as well.
If there's one online shopping platform that I have come to rely on for my home appliances, semi skin care products and other accessories, it will be Jumia. I tried Konga once and it was ok at first but I think something happened and they were away for sometime. When they eventually got back to service, their prices were a little over the roof so I just stuck with my first husband Jumia.
One thing I love about Jumia is that they are reliable. Will you get value for your money? Well not always but one thing is certain, no one will take your money and not deliver the product that you have paid for. It's even a mental booster that Jumia allows payment on delivery for most items so you know that you are having genuine dealings and not someone trying to play a fast one on you.
Have I been disappointed with my jumia purchase? Yes I have. Back then in Uni I suffered a lot from impulse buying and seeing that Jumia had relatively cheap prices for their items, I was always shopping. Luckily, I got the pay on delivery option and when my friends and I would go to pick it up from their station, they would scream because my orders which was usually wears could fill up a room but the disappointing thing is that not one of them is worthy to be paid for. Thus, we'd leave empty handed the same way we came in.
There was a time I ordered shoes for bestfriend at the time. It was her birthday and I wanted to give her the shoes. Were the shoes lovely? Of course but was it solid? It wasn't because after once wearing, the shoes and even the gladiator sandals I had ordered came falling apart. How about when I ordered a rechargeable fan and when it came in, it could not be powered at the delivery station where I had gone to pick it up so again, I left empty handed.
Regardless of my bad experiences with Jumia, it's all lessons learned for a better shopping experience. After so many trial by error processes, I stuck to appliances, perfumes, accessories and gadgets because those are some orders that have never disappointed me.
I recently got body cream from them. This is a cream that is scarce in the market. Imagine my excitement when I was scrolling through the online mall and bumped into this cream that had just one bottle left? I immediately dived in and ordered a perfume by the side because I was almost out of my daily scent. As someone who suffers a lot from blind buying, I find it easier getting my perfumes from Jumia because then I get to read the review and make a mental assessment. If there are more good reviews, I go for it, otherwise I just keep looking. This is one opportunity that I will never get in open stores. And was this a good buy? Yes they were. Value for my money guaranteed.
Below are some items that I have gotten delivered to me from Jumia that I got my money's worth.
You see that gadget there for mashing yam? Yeah, nothing really concerns me with mortar and pestle anymore.
I am coming back from the office no matter how late and still fixing myself a meal of pounded yam if thats what I want. The sweetest part is, the gadget is doing more for less and I do not have to put up with exhaustion simply because I want to get my yam to look like eba.
Sadly I lost this glasses and it's out of stock. I rocked it just once on this outfit.
ALL SCREENSHOTS WERE GOTTEN FROM MY JUMIA ACCOUNT
