I can't count how many times I've been let down by network but I'll share two experiences I can't forget.
The first one was when I went to market to for fabric sourcing and other things I needed to make client's dress.
I had finish negotiating price and they had already packaged my goods. The only cash left with me was my transportation fare and we all know that no commercial bus conductor in my country will accept transfer.
More to that, it was very little compared to the items I had bought so it was time for transfer. I forgot my card at home and didn't think it would be a problem, since I can just transfer using my mobile device via my bank app.
Lo and behind, the network had other plans for me. The network on my mobile device vanished oo. I thought it was just for a while so I want bothered. I kept gisting with my customer until it dawned on me that I had spent almost an hour there. I stood up in search of network oo.
Ths happened in a market known as the Lagos Trade fair which is a very wide market with many plazas. The plazas are named after the 36 states in the country, so you should have an idea of how big the market was.
The woman who sold to me, told me to walk endlessly until the network came and I tell you, that journey was farther than the journey to Damascus.
It wasn't a funny experience at all. I held my phone up moving it from left to right as I walked and walked until I missed my way. Honestly it was very frustrating.
I asked people how to locate the shop as every shop looked alike. It took the grace of God to locate her shop. She trusted me to send the money to her when the network came. She collected my number and asked me to go. Thankfully she was kind enough to give me the items I purchased. As soon as I got on the bus going back home. The network came, I quickly sent her the money and she was glad.
The second one was when I wrote on hive in response to a particular prompt I was so busy that it was few hours to the deadline and writing a good post need some time to think things through.
I had finished thinking and drafting out my post, only to hit the publish button. The network got stuck on edge and wouldn't load. I tried the airplane mode hack but all attempts seemed to no avail.
I quickly called a friend who was a tech guru to give me another hack because I couldn't afford to waste my effort after drafting that post.
He told me about a certain VPN which I downloaded and and viola.. It worked like magic.
I was able to publish my post that day and I gave him his flowers for the network hack.
Images used belong to me.
