Okay now you’ve given me something to think about. I believe there’s nothing in a portal unlike we see in movies. Maybe right after you enter, you reach the other side you’re going. Don’t you think movies do all that “portal drama” they do so we would understand it’s a portal?
I think the portal drama are to spice things up and it always gives out a plot twist .
