I’ve tried so hard to remember any bad experience I’ve encountered with online shopping but funny enough, I’m not even remembering any because I’m not a fan of buying things online. I screenshot whatever I want and then go to the store or ask around for that particular product. But I still have a juicy story.

My friend saw this really pretty dress online and after making enquiries from the vendor, she was told the dress was available and already made. It looked so perfect for the occasion and I was even thinking about buying one. But when I thought of the fact my friend was buying it for her sister’s wedding, I decided to leave mine in the cart.

But she cleared her cart about a month to the wedding and placed her order. We were told it was going to arrive in 14 days. After 14 days, we still did not hear from them so we reached out to them, and then we were told there was mix up in the order so they would need a week more to deliver. For me, it didn’t make sense because why would you need so much time for a dress that’s already made?

All that time, I was telling my friend to look for a back up dress but she wasn’t even paying attention to me. And what annoyed me was the fact that she asked me to optimistic which was funny. I’m surprised she didn’t know that part of being optimistic is seeing doomsday ahead and doing something about it.

Exactly three days to the wedding, we were told the dress had been sent out but we didn’t receive any delivery call until the day before the wedding. When we received the package, we were all excited because at least my friend was going to have something to wear. At that point, she was even telling me a lot of “I told you to be patient, I told you to be..”

The moment we opened the package and saw the dress, my friend started crying. At a point I was confused if the woman cut the fabric for us to sew or she forgot what we ordered. My friend was so sad and even though I wanted to make fun of her, I had to keep that laughter for later.

We sent them a video of the package we received and they didn’t even reply. We called them several times but nobody answered and after some days, we got blocked. Honestly, I wasn’t even mad and would have understood if they gave us a reasonable excuse for their actions but we never got one.

If it’s today that they’ll reply our text, I’m not sure. For me, until I know the person behind an online store, nothing will make me buy from them(especially those WhatsApp stores). I won’t be surprised if statistics show that these online vendors have added to the percentage of weight loss.

A clear case of what I ordered versus what I got 😁😁

I rarely order things online because of this kinds of dissatisfaction and disappointment.
