Appalachia - Day 12

in Canna-Curate2 days ago (edited)

I got rid of my old seedlings that got attacked by gnat larva and started fresh seeds, a new strain as well. This is another new cannabis plant lineage to me, so it should be a new experience growing a new kind of plant. So far it is going well, I will start feeding them nutrients along with the water treated for gnats. I have been soaking a product called “mosquito bits” in water which kills gnat larva and mosquitoes. Not that I have a problem with misquotes. I do want to keep the gnat problem under control. Since starting these seeds I have seen zero gnat activity, but will still only feed them and water them with treated with BTI inside.

Strain:Appalachia
Dominance:Indica dominant hybrid
Nutrients used:Great White mycorrhizae / Foxfarm grow big / Foxfarm Big bloom / Misc supplements for soil bacteria and mycorrhizae
Lineage:Green Crack and Tres Dawg
Current growing stage:Seedling
Current plant age:12 days old
Sex:Normal
Location:Central Virginia

I once again inoculated the seeds with mycorrhizae and other beneficial bacteria to help out with the plants growth. We shall see long term compared to my other grows how well these do using the new product on them.

The seeds came up a week or so ago and now they have their leaves forming. Big fan leaves on the way, so I am excited about this plant.

I put the seeds in sphagnum peat moss and then that handful is added to the center of the grow pots.

We can see the seed pods, post came off on their own.. one needed help.

It will break down into the soil and disappear soon enough.

Hopefully these put on some good growth soon, I hope by one month in we see a big difference.

No idea if these will go purple, I have not grown this strain yet. But hopefully it will.

We can see the peat moss around the seedling, and then the more course soil beyond that. Hopefully that will help out the seedling get big and strong fast.

Still running the humidifiers, I have a fan blowing on it to break up the fog.

Got the new fan installed, hoping it works better now I keep it clear of the humidifier fog.

I find it really important to have these humidifiers, helps out young plants a lot before they have a chance to form roots.

Once a day I refill these, eventually I can turn down the amount of humidity they produce. But for now the seedlings need lots of it.

Sometimes I see the fog coming out of the zippers.. lol I need to adjust the nozzles a little.

All of the humidifiers are controlled by a humidistat.

Everything runs on a timer besides the fan inside. Growing them on a adjustable HID ballast. Right now its set to 600w but I will turn up the light wattage in about a month to bring it over 1000w.

Lastly I have a hygrometer on the front of the tent that gives me the temperature, humidity and the VPD. The last value is new to me, but it helps to figure out the proper temp/RH in the tent using that value.

So from here I will keep feeding the fungi in the soil, and start feeding the seedlings nutrients for them as well.

Kinda looks like @summertooth with that hat..

😄😄😄

Oh you discarded the former? It was better since it was not doing so well, but this one looks very healthy.
I wish you luck.

It was a good idea discarding the previous one that were infected. I wish this new breed give you good outcome

I like that fog humidity system.. snazzy.. plants look good.

Wow this plant look fresh. I love it

Good work, you always got a good idea, i wish you good luck

I do love those new little plants when they pop up and start growing that second layer of leaves. Funny to think that could one day be featured on #themorningbowl.

What I really love is that growing system with the controls, humidity, airflow and next level soil /bacteria management practice. Should make some fat buds a few months down the line!

Waooo!!!

The plants look very healthy, I hope they continue to grow strong 👍🏻

This plant seems really very interesting, yes, I have never seen it in person but I really really want to see it because there is a lot of controversy about this plant when it is seen. my place

Wow... Finally I can see that they have grown, they have taken out four leaves, of course this is a significant growth in my opinion, I am happy to see them starting to appear, if you plant from now on how many months will the harvest period take my friend?
You have quite a lot of tools to measure soil moisture, lighting and tools to prevent fog, which is amazing in my opinion.

Wish you more success 😀😀
