U R LSD LIVE IN TX -- a song born from weed and peyote
Greetings from Texas, where the rules can sometimes feel restrictive. As an Italian musician who has traveled the world, I've embraced the bohemian lifestyle. It's not always as romantic as it seems, but it has its perks. You own nothing, so you lose nothing. The concept of property becomes almost inconceivable, and the idea of living life as a gypsy, especially with my gypsy blood, is definitely worth the gamble.
I'm currently in Texas visiting my newborn granddaughter. In the heart of San Antonio, I stumbled upon an old friend. We toured the USA for the New York City Opera back in 1999. Could I have imagined meeting him after all these years? Well, nothing changed. He greeted me with a warm hug, and we spent the day together. On the way back home, he asked if I still played the banjo. Of course, I said yes. So, he organized a concert for the following week.
During that week, we spent most of our time at his place, gettnig high on weed and peyote. I play acoustic country music, but let me tell you, after that week... well better let the music speak fot its self right?
here's the live version.
We decided to create this version for a one-night stand. I believe it's a unique piece of music. My mate on the console was just fantastic. The video was filmed in his "hutch" in the middle of nowhere. We spent almost a week -- as i wrote -- high as a couple of kites, which in some way or another, helped to push our creativity.
As an Italian musician, I'm often in a heightened state of mind, very anarchist, with a "weed" set of mind. Let's just say that I feel like an ancient 700-year-old witch in a body of a human being with no compass or direction.
I hope you will enjoy this musical concept. I suggest listening with headphones for a complete experience. Enjoy!
