What's up Weed Nerds? So it has been 13 days since my last update, and a total of 91 days of growth for my 3 Autoflowers that I grew from seed, which where gifted to me from fellow Hiver @futuremind. A few days after the last update I decided to go ahead, and cut them. The reason was due to the misty mornings that where occurring. If I had left them to grow longer, bud rot would of certainly set in. Being how small these plants are, I would of ended up with nothing at all, which would be a bigger bummer than what I already been dealing with.
Hawaiian
Bubblegum
So there you have it, a couple nice colas, and the rest is larf. But at least the material has some nice trichome coverage, and should at least give me a good taste of the Hawaiian, and Bubblegum Autos.
So since these where grown here at my job, in my 'Work Garden', I will just dry these in my storage unit.
The weather has been a bit warm, but at night the fog sets in, and it is damp, and cool. So when I leave home at night, I will set this cordless fan up to circulate the air. If you see the pic on the left, I am not pointing the fan directly at the plants. Rather just under them so the air bounces off the door, and have some air movement. That way it does not create an environment for mold to grow. At least that is the hope! I will continue to check in on them, and bend the stems to listen for that snap, that is when it will be ready to trim, and start the cure process. Which should be 7 days.
Arthur says that these Autos smell bomb! He can not believe how much the quality of the flower has improved since the early days. But he still has his doubts, and wants to take a closer look...
Let's see what Arthur sees!
This is where the magic lies within the cannabis flower. You see those little hair like things? Those are Trichomes. This is where the Cannabinoids, and Terpenes are. There are 3 different stages the Trichomes are in, and the way to tell which stage is by the color of the head. These stages can determine when to harvest a cannabis plant.
- Clear-THC is still forming
- Mikey white- This is when the Trichome is at peak THC, or CBD
- Amber- THC begins to degrade, and CBN is more present which contributes to a more sedative buzz
Most people love a mix of amber, and milky Trichomes. The % of amber to milky Trichomes is up to the grower! This is why growing your own cannabis is superior to buying it from someone else. Now in my case I did not harvest in accordance to the Trichomes, which is sometimes the case when you grow, especially outdoors.
It would of been great if I had been able to let these plants go further into flower, and have more amber in there. But losing them to bud rot would of been 100% certain. But no doubt will I enjoy what I have, even if it is a few grams. One thing that is cool about the size, is I was able to keep them here in my 'Work Garden'. If they had gotten bigger, I would of had to take them home. Which I do think they would of done worse, and also got more bud rot there sine the sun does not shine until late morning. Whatever morning mist arrived, would of lingered for way to long. Which for cannabis flowers is a recipe for disaster!
Lovin Arthur's inspection bro! Hahaha! Some is better than none and when bud rot starts, it goes through the plant quick so good choice on pulling it man.
Nice job with the harvest bro!
That was a good call harvesting them before bud rot occurred.
I think these will smoke pretty good and give you a nice buzz.
I'm dying laughing at Arthur's inspection, that was a nice touch. 😂 In his world these are some pretty big plants actually, he looks pretty proud of the end results.
Thanks bro! Yeah once I saw how you smuggled those seeds I knew I had to use Arthur! Haha
Where can I get some of those good auto seeds? I am about to get my setup going in the next couple of months.
@futuremind gave me these. Not sure where he got them.
Bud rot?? What the actual heck is that?! Is there early detection? I'm new to the growing lol so this is something I need to watch for. Our girl here is an outside plant too.
It’s a fungus that develops inside the bud if it gets wet. Doctor enzymes is something I love to use, which is great to have on hand for prevention of pests and mold.
Ok Cool! Thanks for the heads up🤗
