FungiFriday #11

in FungiFriday3 years ago

Hello friends,

Happy #FungiFriday to all of you.

I'll share with you a few photos of the Trametes Versicolor (Turkey tail) I found in January. I found them in different places while walking through the woods. All three are at different stages of development.

The top surface of the cap has concentric zones of different colors, which look like the tail of a wild turkey.

It usually grows on dead trees, but can also be found on a diseased or damaged tree.

This type of mushroom has healing properties and has been used in medicine for thousands of years.

Trametes Versicolor is found in our area, but I am not sure if they are edible.

I'm not sure either. I know it is used in powder form (as tea) to improve the immune system.
