🍄‍🟫🍄 MUSHROOM hunting along the wild RIVER while getting caught in heavy RAIN 🌧️ ~ in Mårdseleforsens naturreservat Åmsele SWEDEN 🇸🇪 (photos and video)

Let’s go hunting for MUSHROOMS along the #WILD #RIVER in the #NATURE #RESERVE MÅRDSELEFORSENS ~ in Åmsele, Västerbotten County, SWEDEN. 🇸🇪
We got caught by heavy rain half way our hike and had to shelter under a large tree before we could walk further… come along on this hike today 🤩 we saw a lot.

The Photographs in this post are taken with my #iPhone 📱 I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my #adventures on this #walk to 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.

After we started our hike we reached quickly the large river and look to the right of us. We see this stunning view 😊 across the water is the island we will be hiking 🥾 on.

We crossed the large wobbely suspension bridge (I will post more about the bridge and the river itself from other hikes on another day) and go right onto the path into the forest on the little island in the middle of the large and wide river. We see a lot of grown over vegetation. What makes the hike more challenging.

We are looking around if we can #forage / find some mushrooms or #blueberries 🫐 to gather.

A small little pond under the shrubs.

As we wander further we see a little area, almost like a #secret #beach along the river.

Shall we check it out a bit better 😎 of course we will…

We see a lot of tree roots 🌳🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲 the soil is flushed away when the river rises.

I am fascinated by these few roots and go closer by to capture them… all the way down at ground level 😊 One of my favourite photos of the day.

We walk further along the river… we see more little beaches. The warm brown colour of the sand / ground is beautiful. 😍

The river and the rapids in there sound very loud.

The large rock 🪨 frames the picture well 😊

We wander further in search of mushrooms 🍄 will we find some?
The blueberry bushes are rather empty.

Suddenly the #weather changes, it starts to rain and the #wind 🌬️ is blowing through the forest 🌳 If you look closely you see the #rain drops hitting the water surface of the river 🌧️🌧️💦💦🌊🌊

We sheltered under a large pine tree 🌲 as we were getting completely soaked. It was very very wet hahaha
Yes I know we shouldn’t shelter under a tree… but there was nothing else around here. The tree kept us out of the rain for a while.
The sound of the heavy rain 🌧️ was very soothing, check it out for yourself in my next little video 👇🏻😊

The tree #branches that were hanging down #protected us well and framed this photo nicely. We waited out the worst of the weather 🌦️

We decided to walk further in the lighter rain. We were mostly protected in the forest. Once in a while a big raindrop falls down on our heads hahaha 🤣
The plants and other vegetation got really soaked. Here some beautiful red mosses.

We were almost thinking we wouldn’t find any mushrooms 🍄‍🟫

But… look at this beautiful mushroom 🍄‍🟫

I walk around it and capture a few different angles.

You can see it has been here for a while already.

Everything is so wet 💦 its #cap could collect easily some water from the rain but it is rather protected by the thick tree tops above it.

It is twice as wide as you see here 😳😱
We look out at the wild river… just to be clear this is just half of the river. We are on a little #island in the middle of it.

We walk further back to the bridge… I see… yes, another mushroom.

Its orange #color stands out so much on this rainy day.

The last photo of this cute mushroom… also my last favourite photo of today 🥰 it is well protected by all the plants around it. Even the mosses shelter it. Beautoful raindrops along its stem…

We head back to the parking 🅿️ now… stay tuned for more hikes in this beautiful nature reserve 😊 to show you everything.

It wasn’t a long hike on this day… so not me…. But I fell down, when I slipped stepping onto a large wet rock. (Even with hiking boots 🥾) I went straight down onto my tailbone on the rock. Caught myself mostly with my left elbow and hand… if I had not done that my back and the back of my head would have hit the rock 🤨 and that would have been even worse. Quite some bruises and a large wound on my elbow. 🫣
Luckily I #recovered well over several weeks following this hike. I do still feel my index finger once in a while. These things can happen… it won’t stop me from going on hikes though 😁 as I LOVE EXPLORING AND DISCOVERING NEW AREAS.
