Happy Birthday, Gandhi

To commemorate his 152nd Birthday, some words of truth and power from Mahatma Gandhi:

When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it—always.

The only tyrant I accept in this world is the still small voice within.

The weak can never forgive, forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

Where there is love there is life.

In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul.

Be the change that you want to see in the world.

A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks he becomes.

Monotony is the law of nature. Look at the monotonous manner in which the sun rises. The monotony of necessary occupation is exhilarating and life giving.

In a gentle way, you can shake the world.

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.

Never really been fond of his words but I do respect a intellectual leader in the world when I see one. I'd rather disagree with an wise man, than argue with a fool.

Happy b day!

Hey, that's a good line about disagreeing with a wise man, rather than arguing with a fool ;)

Interesting that you consider Gandhi an intellectual leader (I think of him more as a heart than head man). I'd be curious to learn why you are not fond of his words, if you wouldn't mind sharing.

Also, since you seem like a thoughtful person, below, are some reflections from a book of mine that you might appreciate, @phusionphil.

Cheers!

I enjoyed the Aphorisms thank you

Good to hear, cheers :)

It's a deep issue, more so I don't like the internet sensationalism that follows him with an idealist interpretation of the nothingness that is valued as riches.

I blame him for some of the fallacies that minimalists live their life according too.

But aside from the mental decay of his words playing internet telephone, I appreciate the insight ghandi has offered us, his peers.

Awesome job posting and thank you very much.

I totally knew this guy was still alive he will always live forever.

I'm glad you appreciated this 🙏

Since I was a teenager, Gandhi inspired me with his big-hearted and peaceful vision to try to transform myself and, in turn, the world.

Wishing you a blessed weekend, @ganjafarmer 😇

We all hold the seeds of being able to change the world in our hands and hearts In Our hands and hearts.

Yes, I believe this to be true. Thank you, for the affirmation.

Yes you are very welcome.

We need more Gandhi to restore the power of peace and harmony in the world . how to win the battle with no sacrifice only gandhi could teach .

No battle, physical or spiritual, can be won without sacrifice. The challenge is not to spill blood and, as you say, restore peace and harmony in the world.

Hello, I congratulate you for the chosen topic...a great character whose words were always in favor of the individual good for the best effect in the common good. A man of wise words, very wise...a man very well endowed with the gift of wisdom.

Yes, character is very important. And, Gandhi inspired us to be noble & peaceful. Very important in life.
