No more talking about downvotes.

I wrote some suggestions about use downvotes. I did not speak to anyone on purpose. I was only discouraged from giving downvotes. I myself have been a victim of downvote. I wanted to say against unnecessary downvotes. I have two characters in that post. Which hurt one.

I don't blog to hurt anyone. If he's in trouble, I'm sorry about that.

The issue of downvotes is very controversial. It's really hard to solve. Hope they understand me

Sort:

I didn't see the post in question. I dislike when people are silenced on any issue.

Downvotes are part of HIVE. I can't make them go away. The best way to deal with this feature is for people to talk about when and where downvoting is appropriate.

IMHO: Downvotes should be geared to improving behavior on the forum. Downvotes should always start with communication.

I've downvoted phishing attempts, spam and plagiarized content.

Some people post images without crediting the source. There are legal issues involved in violating the copyright of content creator. For legal reasons HiveWatchers aggressively downvotes copyright violations.

The downvote campaigns don't work if the person doesn't understand the reason for the downvote.

HIVE currently has problems with tags-spam. I support tribes and communities that downvote posts that are not appropriate for the tribe.

In all cases, except phishing, people should talk about the reasons for the downvoting before engaging in downvoting ... otherwise the behavior won't stop.

Hmmm, I just looked through your posts. I saw that you were marketing a free upvote bot in 2018. That campaign looks like spam to me.

The massive number of bots had an ill effect on SteemIt. I understand that there are coordinated campaigns against bots.

Other than the fact that you failed to cite the sources of your images, it looks like current posts are taking a better direction.

in 2018, There were paid votes that were not profitable for bloggers on steemit. All were selling upvotes. I didn't like that. For this reason, I started that free upvote campaign.

The voting bots were the first programs that interfaced with SteemIt. People liked them at first and then found them annoying.

It is a good example of how people's ideas change over time.

A free voting bot was a legitimate response to paid voting bots. Many people are using a tool called a curation trail which is a form of a free voting bot.

I understand that HF25 is changing the curation formula because the bots could vote exactly at 5 minutes ... which meant that bots would consistently get higher curation rewards than people.

Since styles change, people have to communicate with each other. The downvote should be part of a system to help people communicate what they doing.

Again, I harken back to the image credit problem. HiveWatchers downvotes people suspected of violating copyrights because of the legal issue. The people who get the downvote often feel that they are being targeted when it really is a way to ward off copyright-infringement lawsuits.

Downvoting should always include open discussions about the reason for the downvoting.

I talked about the pointless use of downvotes. You will understand if you read the post completely. And I have not violated copyright law. I have used either my own photo or a licensed photo. I have a photo in this post named "No Talk" that is my own photo. Licensed photo means copyright-free photo.
Even if I don't source it, it doesn't violate copyright law.

However, it is advisable to include the source in the licensed photo as well.

I have never been downvoted on steemit. Because it wasn't spam in Steemit's rules.
You can test if you want. If You share a copyrighted photo in a post without the source. hivewatchers will catch you. If you share licensed photos in another post without the source. hivewatcher won't tell you anything. This also applies to your own photos.

However, it is advisable to include source to the licensed and your own photos.

HiveWatchers downvotes people suspected of violating copyrights because of the legal issue. The people who get the downvote often feel that they are being targeted when it really is a way to ward off copyright-infringement lawsuits.

Downvoting should always include open discussions about the reason for the downvoting.

HW doesn’t punish suspicious image they know that there is plagiarism and than issue the DV
it’s a good way to learn for the newer people , the oldies just need to learn the rules and than a dv is what is needed to keep the hivesfere clean

Your post was the most fun I had all day, keep it up! Thanks!!

Thanks,
