Resolutions For Who?

in Proof of Brain3 years ago

A fresh year has figuratively sprouted out of time and the human race is once again racing to compile a list of resolutions they probably might forget about one or two months in.

Happy new year...

The clock on my wall tells me it is just another warm mid-day but the calendar in my phone begs to differ. Last night sealed away the year that was and whatever weight her days carried and this morning ushered us to another trip around the sun.

As the twelve faces of the moon ready themselves somewhere in the space and deep within these mostly violated women bodies, the wind is striving to contain the anger of those who traded their lives for a better tomorrow sadly.

New you... New goals... New everything?

Yes and no.

If you crept between your sheets last night hoping to wake up a reborn being, you missed the part where you crumble to nothing before you witness your rebirth. Growth is more of watching a spark reimagine itself as a raging wildfire, there is no switch to flip.

Before you list your resolutions, have you ever thought of facing what you ran away from? Take a minute and turn around and look at what you have been afraid of in the eye. Have you ever pictured what it would be like embracing everything you are especially the parts you have struggled to love?

I mean, how do you expect love from a dysfunctional society yet you can't practice self-love? Give yourself the love that you so graciously extend to those who have taken shelter in your patched heart.

From which well shall you refill if you are not well? Take care of your energy. Your rhythm of life. Let no one feed off your famished soul. How else are you to chase after what you want?

Prioritize. You can't do everything. We crawl before we can feel our feet become wings.

I promise I didn't intend on soiling your resolutions but we are a race that keeps forgetting the lessons of yesterday while magically expecting change to find our rigid paths tomorrow.

We are more than we say or think we are but we also come with an inbuilt ego that hampers the view of our greatness... if only we could be more open and accessible.

What if we religiously held ourselves accountable for our own joy and happiness? What if we crossed over the year with every lesson our experiences extended last year? What if we flipped a different chapter enthusiastically like we review our pasts?

Our resolutions will then become an extension of our daily goals as they coalesce into our betterment and the gradual revelation of our evolved versions. That is the only way we can embed what we want in our lives and our egotistical souls. I wish you luck in all you do 🍃

Happy new year, wishing you the best year yet

Happy 2022! May good vibes meet your soul whenever.

Much appreciated. It's Nice hearing from you. I trust this year I get more inventive and get parcel of help from hive master's like you.

the resolution is just for our craving ego to have a list to share or dream we list and will (probably) forget.

Why would we always make resolution every new year? why don't we reflect and learn from what have been happen the the past year?

I think our love for new beginnings has us confusing that the past has a share of its lessons to.

I mean, how else can we forget all the above so fast? :)

Happy 2022.
