My cutty brother in Janmashtami dress😍
Special post on the occasion of Janmashtami.
Sri Krishna Janmashtami Bratakatha.
Krishna and Balarama were brought from Vrindavan with Akrur in order to kill Krishna, the conspirator, in the grand ceremony at the court of Kangsaraja. Krishna came to Mathura to kill the wicked Kangsa and to release his mother Devaki and father Basudev from prison and to restore the captive Ugrasen to the throne of Mathura. The devotees of Mathura were especially anxious to know when the person who would be ousted from Kangsa would arrive in this life. Truly that day has come. Krishna and Balarama entered the city of Mathura. Everyone got the news and started giving a warm welcome to Krishna-Balram. When the wicked Kangsa was destroyed in Mathurapur, Devaki Basudev Andhak and many other loving relatives started praising Krishna. The motherly lady took Krishna in her arms and started crying. Basudev too.
Began to cry with joy. He began to embrace Krishna as his son. Then Basaradev pulled Balaram and Krishna to his chest and said, O son, you are my son. Today my birth was successful by meeting you. My life is blessed.
The people of Mathura were overjoyed to see the affection, weeping and joy of Basudev-Devaki and bowed to Krishna and said, O Krishna, today our joy has no limit. Today, the evil spirit has been defeated in wrestling. O Krishna! Now be pleased with all of us. Let us make a proposal to you in this public, that is, we cannot determine anything about the day on which Devaki Devi gave birth to you. We will celebrate your birthday on that day. You give us permission. O Krishna! We have taken refuge in you with devotion, show us grace. Hearing that, Basudev looked at Balaram and Krishna and was thrilled with joy. Then he said to Krishna, May this be the case with all people, you give the appropriate order. With the permission of his father, Krishna declared in Mathura. O people! When the sun goes to Leo, the clouds rise in the sky in the month of Bhadra.
I was born in the lap of father Basudev and mother Devaki in the constellation Rohini in Taurus at midnight on Krishnashtami. In my affection for you, I have approved from today - citizens and other Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, Shudras, etc., from the age of eight to eighty years, young and old Banita should perform this vow on my date of birth. If you make this vow, everyone will have peace, joy and health.
Hearing that word of Krishna, all the people fasted on the day of Janmashtami and started performing Krishnagana, Krishnakatha, Yagyajna for the purpose of Krishna-loving. The various ceremonies continued till midnight. The people of Mathura started giving various gifts to Krishna. Devaki started worshiping Basudev. Devaki-Basudev began to donate wealth, clothes, etc. to the Brahmin priests, singers, hymns, and all those present at the ceremony.
It is written in the Vishnu mystery that a person who is reluctant to take Janmashtami vows will live like a serpent in a huge forest. Moreover, he has no happiness in this world and in the hereafter. Hellish torment is in his destiny.
According to the Bhavishyottara Purana, Lord Krishna tells the Maharaja of Yudhisthira that fasting on a single Janmashtami brings liberation from the sins of seven births and brings offspring, healing and unparalleled good fortune. Beautiful and heartfelt Mahatmas are born in the lineage of Janmashtami devotees. The next day, a kind-hearted Mahatma Sri Abhayacharan was born as their son.
It is further said in Bhavishyottara Purana that bathing, giving, home, swadhyaya, japa, tapa nature can be performed in Janmashtami. In the preface to the Brahmapurana, Srisut Goswami says that Sri Krishnastami is a Vaishnava date. The people of Kali Yuga become pure by remembering that date.
In our society Janmashtami vows are fasted by some the day before and some the next day. The Padmapurana says on which day the duty is a little seventh in the morning and all day and night
Even if it is the ninth day, the eighth day with the ninth day should be accepted as suitable for observing the vows. And if the seventh day of Rohini Nakshatra is pure Ashtami, then even if that Ashtami is till dawn the next day, one has to fast on the previous day. But fasting on Janmashtami vows on the eighth day of the seventh day is completely forbidden.
