RE: POB TALK 09/08/2021 - #72

Hello to all the pretty ladies and handsome men out here! Hope you all are having a great day.

I always think of relaxing over the weekend, chilling and spending time at home watching television and eating good food. But as the weekend approaches, I end up planning something or the other with friends or family.

Mostly, it's be hosting some guests at my place one day and going to someone's the other day. And the weekend goes away partying and having a lot of fun. But my idea of taking rest and relaxing fails all the time.

Yesterday it was my dad's birthday so we went to his place to cut his cake and party. We came back home at around 12 in the night, i was too tired to even change my clothes.

Next week, it's independence day and then next week, it's Raksha Bandhan which is a very popular festival in India to celebrate the relationship between siblings. So no relaxing and chilling next two weeks as well.

Does any of you out here come across a similar situation? Or am I the only one dying to relax but don't relax?

Hello dear. This is my life 90% of the time. I'll be dying to just take a break and relax but I just can't afford it.

it's Raksha Bandhan which is a very popular festival in India to celebrate the relationship between siblings

How do you celebrate this day?

Ok so Raksha Bandhan is a very beautiful festival. Sisters visit their brothers and tie a rakhi (thread band) on their wrist to celebrate their bond. They exchange gifts to make each other happy.

The tradition basically says that the sister is strengthing the bond by tying the holy rakhi on the brother's wrist and in retun the brother promises to take care of their sisters in all situation of life and be with them forever.

It is absolutely a beautiful tradition, I would love to witness it at least once in my life. I wish we had something like that over here.

You can do it in your own way to celebrate the bond with your siblings.

As a tradition, it was only between brothers and sisters but now that we have less number of children so one might not have both boy and girl child. So people follow the tradition between 2 boys and 2 girsl too. It's all about love afterall.

Raag doesn't have any sister, not even a cousin sister. So I will ask my house help who looks after him the whole day to do this ceremony with him. Also, I will do it with my cat because we anyways teach Raag that the cat is his elder sister.

My sister also recently delivered a baby boy so I will do it between them too. I'm sure it will be too much fun

Wow your weekend was fantastic, that is weekend for you, you met plan to sleep and relax yourself by weekend but to me if you know you want to rest or relax don't have it in your mind that you have time.

I will say you should rest anytime you see the opportunity, because unless you sleep well Frome Friday night to Saturday morning and wake up late.

Maybe by 10am in the morning so that you will know that no time to rest again because weekend you will do alot things like tidying up the house take care of the children wash clothes and some other things in the house.

And if you have a party or you did not even have it in mind to go for party but your friend might come and invite you to one.

Because you know people have gone to work from Monday to Friday so weekends they want to enjoy themselves and put there are party to weekend because they know the next Monday they will start working and no one will have time for any party

And that is all you will do for the whole weekend and there won't be time to rest, you can see now that next weekend you have another party which is Independence day.

And to your question is not only you that I've come across similar situation a lot of people do busy on weekends like the working days.

No time to rest for we just have to treat it so that is why I said whenever we have the opportunity to rest during the week you should not push it to the weekend you should make use of the opportunity and rest.

I so wanna wake up late over the weekends but there are 2 reasons why I can't do so.

  1. I am a morning person and just can't sleep beyond 7 in the morning. There's like an internal alarm clock set inside me that wakes me up at 7, LOL.
  2. I have a child who wakes up at 7 too, an early riser just like his mother. So no chance I can sleep till late even if I want to.

I want to rest over the weekdays as well but again I think till me child grows up a little I won't be able to do that. Whatever time I have, he takes away. If I sleep, God knows how he gets to know and comes over me to dance :D

But that's ok, I think its a phase of life that we can't run away from and hence there is no point in cribbing. Just enjoy what comes your way. There is a lot of life to rest.
