A change of pace from my usual articles for a good reason, I am still alive.

I was up at 6 AM and took a walk into the courtyard to be surrounded by swooping swallows, (birds) that tend to come down low for insects when the rain is due. So I grabbed my Nikon, set it on sport mode and this is some of the results.

(I think these are of the saw-wings variety)

There are 4 in that photo but I could see many many more swooping in and out the yard totally unbothered by my presence.

Anywho why so glad to be alive?

Well I will get to that at the end. But come on, every day is a good day if you make it one, so why not want to be alive?

I sold most of my steemonsters cards over the last week and cashed the dec for Hivepegged today. I changed that by sending it to my hive wallet as hive and it totalled over 5500. I added a spare thousand hive I had in my wallet & sent it to bittrex , now I am currently selling it at a fixed rate netting me around $2700 for some cards I paid around $400 for.
Now who can complain about that?

I still have some of my most expensive cards rented out for a passive income too. If you play you know Yedin Zaku, well that is one I rent out, why? Because last night it was worth $950 and today it is worth $1100, that is why. What price next week or month?

Running a farm is not easy, not for this city boy anyway.

You can plant as many seeds as you want but timing is everything.

We harvested the wheat fields at the weekend.

Good job we did, torrential rain landed yesterday and those that did not want to do their fields at the weekend now have rotting fields of wheat, devastated by the rain. (you need a bit of luck sometimes)

Most of the harvest will be shared, the combine owner/driver gets one fields worth, all the other fields were taken to a silo to be shared with those that need it and some auctioned for the local orphanages. All proceeds go to them.

I do not need money so sharing is caring.
We have been doing the food is free for 7 years now.

We still have a mile of corn (on the cob) to sort out once ripe. And barley.

• Bonus 4 fresh pesticide free home grown food for the day.

Today we picked 2lb of raspberries, 1lb of wild strawberries, much smaller than the variety sold in shops but 5 times juicier and sweeter.
We picked a pound of peas in pods, 1 bowl of runner beans. 3 courgettes, 4lb of cucumbers and a lot more besides.

Raspberries and potatoes.

Peppers are starting to bud, carrots looking good too.
Cucumbers, rhubarb (massive) x2 and the mint garden is looking fresh.

The garlic is growing nicely, parsley, apples, grapes, water melon, tomatoes got a bit washed down by the storm though.

There is a lot more than that growing. The thing I like about this lifestyle compared to city life is I can walk outside when hungry and have instant fresh food. If I am in the fields and hunger strikes I just grab an apple from the orchard, normally off the floor as they are the ripest, and hunger is gone in an instant. (helps the immune system too) Politicians and doctors take note!

Even after I yelled watch out. The other driver was going slow enough to miss us. I put my hand up to thank him, he nodded, and I get 1 more day or more of being alive.
