Psyber X brings new potential for gaming not yet experienced on the blockchain to the Hive community. Instead of the typical yet reliable games we know and love like Splinterlands, Psyber X brings us the no-holds-barred shooter. It aims at bringing a first-person shooter (FPS) Fortnite-level playing field to Hive. However, that's not all. PsyberX brings a potential for in-game governance.
Victory and Defeat
You look down upon your prey. Hours upon hours of chasing and gun battles brought you face to face with your kill. Accomplishing your mission, you look down once again at your foe, knowing that for at least this night, you won't go hungry.
Yet, tomorrow holds another trove of horrors. There's no rest for the wicked, and you're off to your next kill. Hunger and death can come from any corner. Be it from the backstabbing strategist or the remorseless mechanical monsters looking to release the biologicals from their mortal coil.
It would be best if you had an edge—something to put you ahead of the competition that can bring you closer to glory. You pull a slip of paper you took from your enemy before dropping him in the hole. It mentions an airdrop coming soon. If only you could get there first.
The Cyberpunk Promise
@PsyberX promises a world not yet seen on Hive. Their reporting on development is consistent and realistic. While Reptile Studios promises a game we haven't seen on the blockchain, they approach things practically. They promise progress instead of the world. Eventually, they will provide the game they describe, but it will be done in stages as each phase gets tested, released, or revised as necessary based on performance.

I'm excited to see how this game turns out. Psyber X runs its game with the LVL coin, and it's up for grabs until the game comes out and the cost starts to rise.

I am also excited about Psyber X. As a sci-fi and crypto enthusiast I liked the concept. Other than the few examples like Splinterlands, the artistic component of Play-to-Earn games is weak. This is not the case for Psyper X. The only concern I have about Psyber X is that I haven't bought enough LVL yet.
LoL. You, me, and @bobthebuilder2 have the same concern about not having enough LVL bought yet. I'm working on converting some Hive for this purpose. I think I can reach 2M LVL, but we'll see. @psyberX reports that they secured their current funding goals for the game and that's reassuring.

Yeah, I saw you at 900k+ and thought... holy cow! I gotta catch up! Instead of buying lvl, I spent about 500 Hive on bxt and put it into liquid pools. I'll get a power down of 200 more Hive tomorrow, I think... we'll see how that goes 😏
I just started powering down Hive. I'm still on the same blockchain so my feelings aren't hurt over watching the drop. Plus, after I read all of @psyberx's documents, I became a believer. Not a blind believer, per se, but one willing to be patient for what's to come. I'm going to try and reach 2M LVL and then I'll just participate and HODL what I can.
I hear ya! I bought $2k usd of Hive last year when I first started. I started powering down when I was only getting 12% roi from dlease and saw steem was earning 33%. I only powered down half, but have since found near and over 100% roi opportunities through beeswap and its liquidity pools. Because they pay out daily, the return will be over 100% as I try to roll the earnings back in for the compounding effect. When I saw lvl at 0.0004, I bought it up to 0.0013, then waited with sitting buy orders at 0.0009... last I saw, it was at 0.00112 for buy orders and 0.0013 for sell orders...I don't see any reason to believe it'll ever be lower than it is now, so I'll be buying more soon. I'm trying to use my daily earnings here and there to buy lvl and using my hp power down to buy both bxt and lvl... it's working well...

Hive has grown so big that it houses other components beyond the writing and earning layer. Impressive!

Based on @psyberx's discussion of Royal Reptile Studio plans, it will not be another Splinterlands game. Perhaps, some aspects may be present, but it's a separate world entirely.
Also, if this venture is successful, it won't be the only game either. They plan on expanding, but their specific plans in this area appear to be hush hush for now.

I bought a few hundred LVL last year. 150 LVL on 2021.12.24, and 541 LVL on 2021.12.27. I have not bought/received and I have not sold any LVL since then, so I currently have 691 LVL, which currently worth $1.72 USD.
Hopefully the LVL token will worth much more once the Psyber-X game will release, and the people will start playing with it.

Wow, that's super news Schol. I am associated with some games but none of them provides a real time experience, most of them are rpgs or clickables. Its good to hear that someone is working on providing actual blockchain gaming experience. An FPS is a hardcore gaming experience. And with blockchain, we can't deny the inclusion of a free market for game items. Its going to disrupt, if executed intelligently, no doubt about that.

I'm not sure I will. I started teaching at a university part time while working full time still... wife wants me to get doctorate, but I have little reason to put forth the effort except the vain "I'm a doctor"... not sure it's worth it...
Right? What is it with...the laydays and wanting their husbands to get doctorates? @trostparadox gave me a great piece of advice when my wife told me the same thing. You may want to try it out for entertainment value. I just told my wife that if she REALLY wanted me to get a doctorate, then she would have to start calling me "master" since I just got my Master's degree. She hasn't mentioned the doctorate for a couple of days now.

You know, I don’t think it will. @psyberx has been very realistic describing the various stages of their launch. I think the game won’t be everything that it promises at first because they need to make sure each phase launches smoothly. It was actually refreshing to read their approach in this manner. So many games promise the world at launch time. Reptile Studios however doesn’t take such a grandiose approach.

They've been slowly releasing information since before November 21. They're doing it right... They're being realistic. Also, LVL will be used for multiple games with @psyberx being just the first of many.

It's really exciting to find a game on the HIVE blockchain that also appeals to a community that I can relate to. I grew up playing Doom, DukeNuke 3d and others. No doubt the potential for Psyber X is still yet to be seen. Thanks for sharing !
