Thank you for your response and compliment. I'm flattered. Sometimes, my wife criticizes me and my sons for having tunnel vision on any particular topic. We see a thing, and we must pursue it. It's not so different than anyone else, actually.

In the case of communicating information, nothing could be further from a falsehood. We can only see in one direction. We must contemplate varying points of view to understand a topic to the max extent of our abilities.

We rush to report the truth and sacrifice accuracy for the sake of notoriety.

Regarding technology, a lot of the research papers out there are quite legitimate but aren't adequately covered. The media has three things working against them:

• First, it is time. They only have a limited amount of time allotted for communicating the tech.
• The second, is notoriety. The flashier the report, the more attention it gets.
• The last, and most important, is the effect of sensationalism. We allow ourselves to be drawn into a scandal by not using the emotional intelligence within us. We fail to demand the accuracy reporting warrants for any variety of reasons...and then, we complain when things are not as accurate as we would like.
