I hate this "war". It seemed more of a means to an ambiguous political end than anything else I've read about. No clear enemy. No clear agenda. More like a staging ground of economic distribution built on the backs of volunteers.

Exactly. These wars in the East are only for political pretexts, it is like entering a war that will have no end. As they had already invaded in 2001, they would have to at least have a concrete plan for a safe and efficient exit, without harming the Afghans, who felt protected by the American presence in the region.
