I'm glad you recognized that letting others think and believe as they like, even if they disagree, is very freeing. :)

I've told the story often of my arrogant, conceited early years. Sometimes we have to get burned to become a master chef, and sometimes we have to be an asshole to become a good human.

All the 'weird' (for lack of a better word) actions people make come from 'weird' beliefs, if that makes sense. I'm happy you've taken more control over your beliefs!
