Arguably I strongly agreed with you on this and I must say the importance of silence at times is quite important and vital in our community this days as many might have different opinions on what it means to be silent,I must say that my opinion too is different from others and base on your content friend,it as really outline the importance of silence

On a contrary to the opinion which talks about been silent as an example of been dull or slow,but to me I see it as a means of Keeping and making peace just like you have stated,I was brought up with the saying,which says

Been silent at times don't allow you to cause trouble for other's and you won't also get into one too.

The above adage as shown that silence symbolize peace and it helps to give us the ability to know those who are around us well enough and sincerely most people that keeps silent on most occasion always gain attention from the world when they have something to say and that is why life at times is not always about you talking and talking always, embrace peace and most times it is better not to talk than to talk and get no value for it.
