Uhm, ok, it's already weekend right? And in the middle of this bloodbath in the cryptomarkets. I bet you surely are yearning to consume some good entertainment in the blockchain. Reading something brainy, didactic and ¿why not? also humorous and funny through what should be an authentic social network. ¿Am I right?
Yeah, I have been realizing that many of you are eager to read and consume something different. Something that is not about cryptocurrencies, or video games, or movie reviews, or cooking recipes, or makeup tutorials or anything like that that lately abounds in our social network on the blockchain wherever you turn to see.
Yes, all that stuff already looks toilsome and boring. So, why not better take you now into the adventure of exploring and discovering yourself deeper in front of a mirror?
Oh yes of course. It seems to me that this would be much more entertaining, satisfying and fun for you. But yeah, even if the effort today is to distance ourselves a bit from all those trite, overused and boring trending topics such as those that I have already indicated above before. Even so, we still would have to choose a topic that is a popular, widely known and of people interest buzzword... ¡Instant Powerdowns!
Oh yeah! Why not Instant Powerdowns?
Uhm, well, ok, ok. Maybe I'm digressing too much with this long prelude to the main topic of this post. "The adventure of exploration and discovery in front of the mirror". Do you remember? Alright, let's then continue with this outlandish post in order and without haste. But let me first at least embed right here a very brief observation on the subject of powerdowns. Just for the record.
So far, the main proponents of the instant powerdown still are not in agreement nor in consensus and didn't figure out yet how they would implement this eventual feature in the most secure and effective way in our ecosystem. I don't mind to reduce the time from 13 to 4 weeks. But in my opinion, the instant PD is clearly only of benefit for the opulent whales, opportunists & speculators with fat wallets and obviously hackers.
¿Understood? Okay, so let's continue with the bulk of this spiel that there is still much more funny things to read. And I don't want to scare you or get you bored yet.
"The curse of the Smartasses" ¡Look at yourself on this mirror!
«-Round Peg, Square Hole Conundrum-»
“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in five years by trying to get other people interested in you” - Dale Carnegie
Nope, I'm not a smartass. I am just a skilled, trained professional in pointing out the obvious. I am also fluent in irony, cynicism and sarcasm.
"Knowing too much and knowing that you know too much"
Most people tend to think that sometimes you are being intentionally difficult or more probably, that you aren't paying much attention to their needs.
And while you may think you’re actually being detailed and showing that you understand a challenge. More often than not you’re just telegraphing the opposite and obviously it can backfire.
As many of you already know, 'they' use to say: "No one likes a smartass" And yeah! I've been witnessing this claim and suffering the repercussions from long ago. Probably since my date of birth. When even though I didn't master any language at all, I always found some expedite way to express my mind out eloquently.
My short reply to doctor's welcome.
Therefore, this has been a long story in my life as you can figure out. I've been one of those who everyone tends to make his life through, always way harder and more uphill than others all the time. But I've learned and learned a lot along so many decades. And as the saying goes: "Every cloud has a silver lining" or as in spanish we say: "No hay mal que por bien no venga" you always have to squeeze the positive sweetness of every drop of a juicy lemon thrown at you. };)
I remember clearly many moments in my childhood and especially during my internship through elementary school, where I was many times accused of being a brash smartass indistinctly by my peers and my teachers. Mostly by my teachers. Simply, because if in my own particular logic something that we has been taught, it had no sense whatsoever as to have to be examined and qualified later with an arbitrary grade, well, I had to ask first why the funk we had to learn that exactly in the same way as it was explained to us. Hey! where was left the free will?
On other hand, regarding my peers, I often saw myself involved in several interesting, heated and fierce discussions that were exposed flying freely back and forth everywhere. Where multiple and varied opinions and points of view about anything and all children often discuss all the time. Yeah, you know, those that almost always lead to a good fight with threats of punches to settle differences out there on the street at the exit of the school.
But yeah, it seems like I always congenitally & subconsciously also knew how to move my hands quick, skilfully and accurately enough. In the middle of exercising the ultimate boiling fight through punches like a gentleman. As to keep my sudden opponents in line at bay through a lonesome accurate blow to their noses and then leave them out of battle swearing and breathing bad instantly.
Btw, a great mystery that even today I have not managed to decipher yet. Because sincerely, I always wondered why the hell I always had that damn good aim with that unintentional score to constantly break the nasal septum in one fell swoop to these fuckers as result in the heat of the moment. 🤔
Oh well, I'm probably digressing one more time. But what I wanted to signify was; that even when I could've been considered a smartass at the time, curiously, I never was victim of the bullies at any time of my childhood or early youth. ¿Clear enough?
While “dumbass” is a term of endearment, usually “smartass” is the real insult"
But the main thing that I really wanted to highlight on this post is:
¿Do you know why almost everyone doesn't like the smartasses and invariably everyone also try to make their lives more difficult than the average people?
Well, basically because everyone thinks they already have their intellectual resources fulfilled. And in consequence, they feel that you need to get ahead alone and without any further help from no one whatsoever.
And although to me this has always sounded like an excuse to not help. All of them. And specially those in a position of power, wealth and authority. As your teachers, your professors, your lecturers, your tutors, your instructors, your employers and everyone who knew you well enough and exerted some transient position of authority over you at a given moment in your life. They use to say to the smartasses of the world that they won't help them, supposedly, in order to facilitate that they alone squeeze and put all their 'full potential' to work and succeed without help.
Yes, that has happened to me many times throughout my childhood, student life, work life and even, once again, until these digital 'Social Network' days, where I'm retired of all that old bullshit but yet current living malarkey online.
Therefore, no wonder I am not in the
autovotingBoting list of any wealthy Guild/Trail on the Hive blockchain to curate blindly my 'smartass' vitaminic & nutritious crap. Nor at the sight of the hungry "curators" and opulent whales whom mostly suspect that the eventual ROI that could be thrown in their big jaws curating my content will not even fill them a mere tooth worth to chew as to calm down their insatiable greed and money's gluttony.
Yep, it's better & funnier cultivate a quick mind for puns and a big yap.
But yes, if you've been so brave and so patient to read me thus far. I'm not going to leave you now without the nutritious part of this post before you leave. So, put all your attention to what follows next. Because if you actually has read this article this long, I presume you indeed wanna "Look yourself at this mirror"
¿Am I right?
The authenticity always have a price. And critical thinking even a more expensive one. So, be very alert and attentive watching for these signs when you look the reflection of yourself in this mirror of sorts.

Yep! I suppose just 26 signals are enough for now to keep you entertained searching for a little while. Obviously, there are way more signals to detect. But maybe these twenty six are the most important right now to pinpoint before running terrified to the mountaineering shop unknowingly.
After all, not everyone owns them all. But if you happen to own at least more than half of them right now. It is better that you start saving some Hive & HBD from now on for the purchase of your 'Sherpa Life' tools, devices, gadgets and further paraphernalia in a not too distant future dude. Cuz I'm already old enough as to know exactly what the hell I'm talking about. }:)
The main aspect I like powering up is for security, i'm sure my coins are safe because it will take a while to power down, so i will leave with my instant power down day 1 I think, before the hacker guts my account with one. I really don't like the idea, and @hive.loans was supposed to solve this for us, so i think something is fishy here!
CLickbait? Was expecting an analysis on the pros and cons of instant PD but ended up reading about how smart you are or ought to be.
¿What? wasn't this an unusually pretty deep and thorough analysis on the pros and cons of instant PD?
C'mon! Did you even have time to look at yourself in the mirror while reading this revealing dissertation and utterly well covered treatise on Instant Powerdowns?
What was exactly what you didn't understand in the: "yeah, let's post whatever on this subject" above in the CLickbait title?
this was one of the most intelligent posts have come across in awhile and I'm jaded
this is the opposite of clickbait
Thank you babe!! :)
It just shows that some people too often can't avoid the "Swoosh Effect" simply because they are way too much immersed in their very own assumptions too quick all the time. Hahahaha
In spite of your self vote, this deserves another one from me. I only ask you change the title to something related to the main topic. It's a deep problem in our culture that no doubt comes from the social engineers on high. Marginalize the smart people so they cannot lead the sheeple.
I think it was very creative of you Bro, and I take the opportunity to tell you that I like your name on the profile.
It reminds me of when I could eat an empanada, or tequeño, with a polar malt, for that price and I had "200Bolos" left over.
Ah ah, that was an interesting reading... you haven't talked that much about the powerdown, though. I didn't know that discussion was going around, it seems to be a terrible idea. 🙄
