I live in Australia, and the skin cancer rates are so much higher here. Whilst weather and lifestyle are contributing factors the sad fact is that the ozone layer is much thinner down here and we are exposed to more uv light.
This was all because of cfcs and thankfully most places no longer manufacture them, however the ozone layer will take decades to regenerate. But let's not make the same mistakes with co2, our moment is now we can make a difference now, we just need our voices heard by or governments.
Crypto also has a role to play, mining bitcoin and ethereum use more electricity than some countries. We need to encourage crypto currencies to move away from proof of work, and become more sustainable like hive. Again hive proves to be ahead of its time and a superior technology to other blockchains,and also environmentally more friendly.
Sorry to hear about that bud. You can try as much as possible to minimize how long you walk in the sun.
I am sure reducing it is a good way to help strengthen the ozone layer and reduce more damage.
In this issue I don’t think we should be looking up to the government for a solution. If each houses can all have a garden with more trees and flowers, I think together we all can make a difference.
Making crypto sustainable like hive is a very good idea too, but I guess that will be among the things that hive is here to change.
