RE: Evolution of Paradise

i am not done reading and listening but I find this refreshing. The best creative effort I have seen in a long time. I envy your piece. i can't remember the last time I put in this amount of effort into a piece.

so far, I like the Don Julian & The Meadowlarks "Heaven and Paradise" song.

"You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone."

Now I know the origin of this phrase used in most pop and dancehall songs... very enchanting. on repeat

oh my God this post is so nostalgic. i love love the phil jones song 'think twice' ( I think brandy make a refix in the early 90's with ray jay)

Thanks for reading,

I have some confessions:

  • I wrote this post in two days, not in one sitting.
  • I don't like some of these songs but they are worth listening for historical perspective.

The song from Phil Collins " Another Day in Paradise" is also a memory for me. There are a lot of songs that got stuck in my head from the 80s like Guns and Roses "Take me down to Paradise City" and Belinda Carlisle "Heaven is a place on earth". But I hated those songs and don't think they have anything to do with the history of the era.

I tried to provide originals from the writer or the first recording of each song. Some of these have been remade several times. Joni Mitchell ("You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone") is a talented artist and still alive today. She is active on Twitter but she is ill. Not many months more and she will be gone.

(Oh... posts like this get higher rankings on Alexa but they don't write themselves.)
