One major problem of schooling at AAUA (Adekunle ajasin akungba akoko) area

Hello guys, I hope you guys are having a fun time over there . I got up 6:30am I felt too lazy to go out and fetch water in our well it's because we are not in summer yet .
I slept back and got to remember when I had first problem in getting water . I actually lived in an apartment with no source of water supply I go to the third house and fetch from a well . Well is a common source of water in the south west part of Nigeria .. most people basically has a well in his/her house because it's very reliable unlike tap water ... There is poor power supply here so it's so difficult to use tap water here .

Students all over AAUA has adapt to using this source of water supply and it has been a major problem for students over here most especially doing the dry season (summer) the sun here is so damn hot some well gets dry up some times and students all over the school area will keep their bucket close and move in groups from house to house to check if there's water in there well .

Sometimes I move about 30min to get to a clean well and would wait about 20min to fetch because it's difficult to find a well without a long que to back it up . During my first year in this school it was so hard and it happened during my exam period . Sometimes I won't take my bath because I don't want to get late or miss my exam .most times when I see a well with water and no one on it either the house owner or students living in the house will walk out a lock the well . I can't blame them for this because they are protecting the water from getting fetch all out unlike tap water which water doesn't finish easy well water do when there's high number of people fetching it . Sometimes it get dirty and Sandy when high amount of water has been taken out of it and will require sometime to settle .
Some students go as far as keeping there bucket down at the well just to make sure they are first on the que of students who will fetch when the water gets settled

But I think now it's even better I got used to the system and I know a close place to go get water and still I have to strategize

Here is a tip I device on how to fetch water easily

• High number of students go to class 7am ,9am and 1pm .wait till students have gone to class and wait back to fetch my water I just pick the middle of that time which is around 11am and fetch my water

• Take bike to any distance place to fetch water the only disadvantage to it is cost of taking a bike

The strategy only works or will be needed if the student is living in a house where there's no well or the house with well and the well get dry up during dry season .

I propose a solution to this

I know we can't ask the sun not to shine or people not to lock their well

I believe the easy and best possible solution is the increase in power supply . If there's enough power supply then house owners will be encouraged to get a tap water which doesn't get dry up instead of well
