The rocks that I saw in Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California are definitely some of my favorites.
I love rocks! The hardest part of this challenge was choosing which rocks to enter.
Rock music?
No. I chose to enter photos of the surreal geologic features that are one of the things that make the park a fascinating place to visit.
In this first photo, you can see a small Joshua Tree. And in the second photo is a big old Joshua Tree that gives the park its name.
Native people found the tough leaves useful to make baskets and sandals, and the flower buds and seeds made a healthy addition to the diet.

Great rocks Melinda. I keep looking at the first one. Its like looking at clouds. I see someone covering their face with their hands. The smooth round rocks have so much personality. I regret never making it to Joshua Tree when we lived in Cali. My boys went but I didn't make the trip.
Joshua Tree was on my life list of places I wanted to visit and II was thrilled when I had the opportunity to go there! I loved the Mojave Desert!
