The Chicago Air and Water Show took place on Aug. 20-21 with less than ideal weather. These photos were taken during the Friday practice session from a comfy chair on my kids condo balcony.
The Blue Angels is the aerobatic team of the United States Navy that was formed in 1946. Their precision flying and dramatic flight maneuvers are always a big hit at air shows.
#7 Lt Griffin Stangel is a Madison Wisconsin native. The Blue Angel pilots must have complete trust in each other because often they are flying only 18 inches apart as they go through their aerobatics.

The fourth photo is amazing. What I read is that there can't be even the slightest mistake in your flight, it must be great to be able to witness it.
They fly with incredible precision. It is rather breathtaking to watch them

Nice pics 🙂 The Blue Angels always fly in San Francisco for Fleet Week. I used to take my lunch on Alameda Island and watch them practice. Really fun watching them.

Beautiful "winged birds" look - yellow on blue.
I have recently stopped loving such shows since spring.
That is perfectly understandable. We need to count our blessings that we do not need to run for shelter when we see planes in the sky....
