A Perfect Solution to prevent Mosquito bite .One morning I woke up with my ears throbbing.I was suffering form mosquito bites and decided to treat myself accordingly. So I bought citronella oil and sprayed it around me until my room smelled nice. After 10 minutes had passed, the mosquitoes came back again, and started biting me.That really made me mad. However after another 15 mins of spraying the oil, they went away! It turned out that citronella oil works wonders against mosquitos.citronellol is a chemical component found in Citrus plants that gives citrus smells its odours. In fact, lemons, oranges, grapefruit, tangelos, limes and other fruits contain lots of citral. But the major source of citronella essential oil comes from island sumatra where the plant grows wild.

Citronella oil helps deter flies and insects from entering homes and businesses as it repels insects through scent rather than stinging or poisoning.Since insect repellents cannot contain pesticides or toxins, citronella works effectively against mosquitoes without potentially harming humans, pets and the surrounding ecosystem too. Many pest control professionals recommend using citronella oil instead of chemical sprays or bug zappers as the non-harmful, eco-friendly alternative, and homeowners regularly report that it lasts throughout the summer season.Scenting citronella does not harm plants near windows but repelling pests does.Furthermore, the smell lingers, although you needn’t apply any extra measures for keeping mosquitoes away during mosquito season due to the persistent nature of the product.

Citronellal, another flavoring ingredient, is derived from geranium essential oils combined with citric acid.Geraniol and linalool combine naturally with citrus fruit flavors. While eucalyptus has medicinal properties, it was first used for scenting furniture polish and fragrances.A person must avoid putting any type of chemical on his/her skin especially during summer season. When sun tan lotions and creams come in contact with skins pores; they penetrate inside which makes them unsafe for persons sensitive to certain ingredients found in these items.Chemical free cosmetics cause irritation on the skin. This could cause rashes.Cosmetics also leave behind a toxic residue once applied.

Citronella plants were discovered in southern China in 1794,and were first cultivated outside Asia.Nowadays, they thrive mainly along coastal regions and are grown mostly throughout tropical countries, particularly on islands like Hawaii.Citronella oil was commonly introduced onto American shores during the 1940s, and since then, it has become increasingly common place in household products.Today, it sells nearly three million pounds each year in North America—about 10 percent of the total demand for essential oils.Unlike petrol, citronellol is non-flammable (even during explosion) and non-explosive and has anti-bacterial properties.Since there isn’t any carcinogen contained in citronellol, it makes it suitable for personal hygiene. Moreover, due to its citrusy aroma, citronellol functions adequately as air freshener. Thus, it helps one rid his/her room or car interior of unpleasant odours generated from cooking.
